Honor the Past, Prepare for the Future, Participate Now
Mr. Mauck's Musings
This week was packed with activities and opportunities for our students and future students. A reminder that school will not be in session next week for Spring Break. School will resume on the 31st at 8 am. We want to recognize Maria Duron and Mrs. Julie Henke our Student and Staff of the Week the last week of March. Good luck to the JHS Winter Guard as they compete for State this weekend. Congratulations to everyone who competed in the annual Indiana Association of School Broadcasters contest. Last Monday was the awards ceremony at Butler university where several JHS media students were recognized. Emma Willis and Amelia Ihle in Radio Copywriting ,Eli Clark and Grant Siebert in Sports update, Landon Fuhs and Caelyn Lenardo in Vodcast, Leo Wolf in Radio Spot Production and Cinematography, Kade Ashby placed 3rd in Podcast, Grant Siebert and Dylan Durcholz placed 3rd in Radio Sporting event, and Landon Uppencamp and the RTV2 class placed 2nd in radio imaging. The JHS chapter of Education Professionals qualified 10 for the national competition. Our FFA officers we invited to the Indiana State House and met with our local congressmen. Young Latinos Unidos club took a large group of students to visit USI this afternoon. On Wednesday, JHS was the host for all of the Dubois County 8th grade students as they participated in the annual Career Cruise. Over 100 county employers had interactive displays exposing students to future careers in the county. Then on Thursday many of those employers returned to meet with Juniors and Seniors for a job fair.
Student Council held class officer elections this week and will elect homeroom representatives after Spring Break. We believe the classes have elected a good batch of student leaders. Get tickets to the final performance of the school year! The JHS Theatre Arts class will present The Outsiders on Sunday, April 13 at 2 pm. Tickets are $5 and available at the door or online. It's a one-hit wonder - so we're expecting a full house! ticketor.com/jhsperformingarts

Thank you for making Jasper High School Great.
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid site is now open for Students and Parents to complete their applications for next year. Any student considering attending college should complete the FAFSA to be eligible for financial assistance. I would encourage all families to fill out a application regardless of need as many colleges require FAFSA completion for all types of assistance. Many schools require submission for competitive non-need based scholarships or grants. The application is much easier than in the past. Click on the link for more information and to complete your application. FAFSA

Congrats to the winners of the 2025/2026 class officer elections. Student Council homeroom rep elections will take place on Tuesday, April 1 and Wednesday, April 2. If you would like to run please let your homeroom teacher know. Also walk-on applications will be accepted after homeroom rep elections. All students should run for their homeroom even if they want to put in a walk-on application. Class Officers are on student council now so please do not run for a homeroom rep position. If you have any questions, please let me know. Have a wonderful break.
