Solar Eclipse Glasses Donated
PHSD provided every student and staff member a pair of solar eclipse glasses for the viewing on April 8th. After the event, English Landing collected over 450 pairs and have mailed them off to be used for the October 2024 eclipse in Latin America. This program donates these solar sunglasses to schools so other children will be able to safely view the eclipse this Fall.

End of Year Assembly - Donations needed
As the end of the school year approaches, we're excited to announce our plans for an unforgettable end-of-year assembly. To make this event truly special for our students, a few 5th grade students have chosen to take on organizing raffle baskets filled with exciting prizes that all students will have the opportunity to win. We're reaching out to you to request donations to help make these raffle baskets a reality.
Your contributions will not only enhance the experience for our students but also demonstrate the spirit of community that makes our school so special. Whether it's a small gift or a larger contribution, every donation is greatly appreciated and will go towards creating fantastic raffle baskets that our students will be thrilled to win. We are asking to have donations brought in by April 26th to allow for students to see the baskets and build excitement.
Please refer to our student created flyers below to see what the basket themes are for the grades. If you have any further questions, please reach out to Mrs. Sanders (sandersab@parkhill.12.mo.us) or Mrs. McQueen (mcqueenc@parkhill.k12.mo.us).

English Landing Field Day 2024
This year we will have our 1st annual ALL Day Field Day!
Date: May 23rd!
We will need lots of parent volunteers to make this event a success. If you are interested in running a station you can sign up for an AM or PM station or both if you want to stay the entire day! You can even sign up for the same station for both times. The stations are labeled indoor or outdoor for your preference and the stations that require some water fun are labeled wet. Unfortunantly, we do not have space for volunteers to travel with classes so thank you in advance for signing up to run a station.
Please bring a water bottle labeled with your name to stay hydrated. EL PTA will have water and bananas for you as well.
Schedule for stations:

Repeated Information for Families
Attendance
Please help your student(s) be successful by arriving to school on time each day. The arrival time for English Landing is 8:50am. Prior to that time, there is no adult supervision for students. Students are tardy if they arrive after 9:10am. Please contact the school office by 9:00am if your child will be absent.
Birthday Treats
Students may bring a birthday treat or favor to school to share with their classmates, as long as they come from our list of treats that contain none of the eight (8) major allergens - milk, wheat, egg, soy, peanut, tree nut, fish and shellfish.
Thank you for understanding that all classroom treats must come from this list, because we do not have the staff capacity to check for allergens that could threaten the health of some students. Please bring birthday treats ahead of time (two hours after the start of school, at the latest).

Park Hill Clothing Center
PTA Needs You!
The PTA of the Park Hill School District runs a clothing center that provides free, gently used clothing and new socks and underwear to district students.
The PTA Clothing Center serves all Park Hill School District students from Kindergarten through 12th grade, and the PTA asks you to bring some proof that you are enrolled in a Park Hill school. This could be a student ID, bus pass, dated letter from a principal or social worker, class schedule or enrollment form.
Donations are welcome at the Clothing Center. Please make sure your donations are clean, in good condition and bagged in kitchen-sized bags that the volunteers can lift.

Park Hill Spotlight Nomination
Our employees are the reason we are so successful here in the Park Hill School District, and we would like to recognize them for all they do for our students.
That is why we present the Park Hill Star award once a month to a pre-K or elementary teacher, a secondary teacher and a support employee.
Nominations start in September
