8th Grade BMSN Football Program Season Recap
The 8th-grade football teams at BMSN wrapped up an exhilarating season filled with growth, teamwork, and unforgettable moments. With a mix of experienced players and enthusiastic newcomers, both the A-Team and B-Team showcased remarkable spirit on and off the field.
Season Overview and Highlights
The 8th-grade A-Team finished with a record of 3-4, marked by several thrilling highlights. One of the most memorable moments came on September 4th, when they pulled off a dramatic victory against Middle School South, clinching the game with a score of 20-14. This win was a testament to the team's resilience and determination. Chance Hembree emerged as a standout player, scoring four touchdowns in a single game, showcasing not just his talent but also his relentless drive. The defense also rose to the occasion, particularly in a nail-biting rematch against Middle School South, where their collective effort secured a vital win.
The 8th-grade B-Team concluded the season with a commendable 4-3 record, featuring its own set of unforgettable moments. A highlight of their season occurred on October 22nd, when they triumphed over Medina Valley Middle School with a close score of 14-12. Andrew Campbell excelled as the leader of the Greyhounds, guiding the team with skill and poise. The defense played a crucial role in several tightly contested games, consistently stepping up to secure important victories throughout the year.
Player Spotlights
This season also shone a light on the exceptional contributions of individual players. Team captain Braxtyn Kennel led with remarkable sportsmanship and motivation, earning the respect of both his teammates and coaches. On the offensive line, Quarto Garza was instrumental in enhancing the team’s running game, providing critical support to the offense. Additionally, rookie Whitten Harper emerged as a bright talent, impressing everyone with his skills and infectious enthusiasm.
Community Support
The support from parents, friends, and the school community was phenomenal this season. The atmosphere at games was electric, thanks to spirited band performances and enthusiastic fans cheering on the teams. A special thank you goes to our dedicated volunteers and cheerleaders, whose efforts helped create a vibrant environment during home games.
Looking Ahead
As this season concludes, both teams are already looking forward to next year. With the strong foundation built this season, there is excellent potential for continued growth and improvement.
