🏆 🎉 Huge shoutout to our Roseville Area High School Cross Country teams! Both our boys and girls teams finished strong at the state meet! The boys placed 8th with 226 points, and the girls took 9th with 260 points out of 16 teams — we are beyond proud of their hard work and dedication!
An extra-special celebration for Robert Mechura, who crossed the finish line as the Minnesota State High School League boys cross country STATE CHAMPION! With a time of 15:03:07, Robert has claimed the top spot once again! 🥇🔥 Way to go, Robert, and way to represent, Raiders!
Today, I’m reflecting on the significance of voting and the powerful example it sets for our students. While yesterday’s results brought joy to some and disappointment to others, the lasting message we can share is that voting empowers each of us to have a voice. As role models, we demonstrate to our children the value of grace and respect, regardless of outcomes—a lesson as essential as the act of voting itself. Through the creative, hands-on opportunities that staff provided, students of all ages experienced the importance of active participation in shaping our community and nation. I’m deeply appreciative of the ways we came together to inspire civic engagement among our students.
Looking forward, Veterans Day is November 11. I want to thank the members of the Office of Educational Equity, who prepared Veterans Day learning resources for staff to use with our students. I’m reflecting personally on what this day represents. I am proud to come from a family with generations of veterans, and honoring their service has always been a part of my life. Veterans Day is an opportunity to recognize the dedication, sacrifice, and legacy of those who have served, and I am grateful for the countless ways our veterans have shaped our nation.

Honoring Native American Heritage: A Time to Acknowledge, Educate, and Celebrate
Throughout the 20th century, various Indigenous Americans organized and appealed to United States government leaders to establish a national day of recognition of Native Americans. In 1915, such a day was established. In November 1990, the first Native American Heritage Month was recognized after a federal law was passed. Similar laws are passed each year to continue to recognize the first Americans each November.
In Roseville Area Schools, we observe Native American Heritage Month to acknowledge that the land which our school district occupies is the ancestral home of the Oceti Sakowin or Dakota people. This is also a time to educate, liberate, and celebrate the rich cultures in our community.
Families, community members, and staff are invited to attend Roseville Area Schools' community meeting on November 20. We'll outline our district’s safety initiatives and explore ways we can all partner to keep our students and staff safe.
We're honored to host Dr. James Densley, a nationally recognized violence prevention expert, award-winning author, and co-founder of The Violence Prevention Project. Dr. Densley will share his valuable insights into preventing school violence, offering a unique learning opportunity for all.
🗓️ Date: Wednesday, November 20
📍 Location: Roseville Area High School

Important Changes to After-School Activity Bus Routes Starting November 11
Starting Monday, November 11, Roseville Area Schools will implement new schedules and procedures for after-school activity buses. These updates are designed to improve efficiency and provide standardized transportation times for students.
Standardized Departure Times:
- Early activity buses will now leave Roseville Area Middle School (RAMS) at 4:15 p.m. and Roseville Area High School (RAHS) at approximately 4:25 p.m.
- Late activity buses are scheduled to depart RAMS at 5:15 p.m. (Monday-Thursday but NOT Friday).
Updated Route Stops:
- A modified list of designated stops will be available, including locations at elementary schools. Please note that these schools will not be open for student access; they will only serve as bus stop locations.
- Students will no longer call out their stops as they would on a city bus. Instead, each student must choose the stop closest to their home from the list of designated locations.
Procedure for Students
If you have a student who will be taking an activity bus home from Roseville Area Middle School, please review the following points with them:
1. Students must review the list of available stops and select the one closest to their home.
2. Students must inform the bus driver of their selected stop when boarding and then stay alert and be ready to exit the bus as it approaches their stop.
Thank you for supporting our efforts to improve our bus transportation system district wide.

Junior Raiders Dance Team! 👟 🎵
The Junior Raiders Dance Team is a fun, non-competitive club available to students in grades 3 - 6. No tryout necessary and no experience necessary, all who join will be a member! This is a great low-commitment opportunity for elementary students to be introduced to the sport of dance team and prepare for the 7 - 12th grade dance team. We'll focus on building basic technique and skills in dance as well as promoting school spirit. Our routines are choreographed with all experience levels in mind. Coached by the Roseville Dance Team coach Brittany Rehling. We will perform at the Roseville Dance Team's winter show on Saturday January 18th, 2025! Each participant will receive a t-shirt to wear in the show.
