For the week of March 11, 2024
Issue #26
Note from the Principal
Dear Basswood Families,
The Muslim holiday of Ramadan begins on Monday, March 11th. For those families that celebrate, I wish you a Blessed Ramadan. At Basswood we are sensitive to the needs of staff, families, and students during Ramadan. We provide accommodation for those that are fasting and for those that need a quiet place to pray. We also understand that many of our students are too young to fully participate. Please let us know if there are any specific needs for your family during Ramadan, so we can offer support during the school day.
I am looking forward to Math & Science Night this week. I hope to see you there!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Steven Schwartz
Basswood Principal

Covid Guidelines
The District is still following the guidelines from MDH. Remember that it is a recommendation that students stay out with a positive test for five days and mask through day 10. Continue to follow the guidelines related to fever, vomiting (twice in 24 hours), and diarrhea, to stay home until free of these symptoms for 24 hours without medication before returning to school.
If you have questions about whether to keep your student home, please contact Nurse Ashley at 763-315-7670 or ebneta@district279.org.
Thank you,

Is your child signed up for an after school Community Ed class?
Our district Community Education department offers a variety of after school classes. If you do sign your student up for one of these classes, please remember to let your student's teacher know about the class and when your student needs to stay after school.
Do you know what time you can drop your student off in the morning ?
First bell rings at 8:40am letting students into the school. Second bell rings at 8:50am letting students know they should be in their classroom ready to start the day! At 8:50am, the front doors are shut and student will need to come through the office to get a late pass.
