PRINCIPAL'S UPDATE
Hello Eagle Crest Families,
We have two exciting events coming up that highlight the creativity, innovation, and tech talent of our community and our students—and we’d love for you to be part of the fun!
🌟 SVVSD STEM Night at the Innovation Center
Tuesday, May 6 | 4:30–6:30 PM | At the Innovation Center – 33 Quail Rd, Longmont
Join us for a hands-on evening full of STEM activities for all ages! Families will get to explore collaborative games, tech experiences, and creative challenges. Students can showcase their own inventions through the Student Design Guild or design a Cardboard Carnival Game to share with the St. Vrain community. Bring your curiosity and your whole crew—it’s going to be an amazing night!
💻 Eagles Can Code: End-of-Year Celebration
Thursday, May 8 | 3:30–4:30 PM | At Eagle Crest
We’re wrapping up the year with a celebration of student coding projects! Our Eagles have been learning to code all year long, and now they get to show off what they’ve created. There will be hands-on tech stations, support from the Innovation Center, sweet treats for families, and even a prize drawing for students.
🔗 You can find more details at bit.ly/EAGLESCANCODE.
We hope to see you at one (or both!) of these great events as we celebrate a year of learning, building, and growing together.
Warmly,
Amanda
DEAN OF STUDENTS’ UPDATE
Hello Eagle Crest Families,
As we welcome the month of May, there’s an exciting buzz in the air at Eagle Crest! The final weeks of school are packed with events, celebrations, and opportunities to reflect on an incredible year of learning and growth. We are currently in the midst of end-of-year assessments and can’t wait to celebrate the progress our students have made—academically, socially, and personally.
Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week, and at Eagle Crest, we take this opportunity to celebrate all staff members who make a significant impact in the lives of our students each and every day. Our school is full of dedicated, compassionate educators and support staff who go above and beyond to care for and support our learners. If your family would like to join in the celebration, our PTO has shared several ways to help make the week a success in their section below. We especially encourage everyone to participate next Friday (May 9th) by sending in a heartfelt note of appreciation to any Eagle Crest staff member who has made a meaningful impact on your family this school year.
Additionally, with Colorado’s spring weather keeping us on our toes, our Lost and Found is once again overflowing with jackets, sweatshirts, water bottles, and more! We've organized everything in the school lobby and will keep it accessible throughout the month. Families are welcome to stop by anytime to claim lost items before they are donated at the end of the school year.
Thank you for all you do to support your child and our Eagle Crest community—we are truly grateful for your partnership!
All the best,
Lindsey Cheney
Dean of Students
Eagle Crest Elementary School

Next Week! Teacher Appreciation Week (TAW) is May 5 - 9:
Thank you to all the families who have signed up to donate food & drinks or help at the Over the Rainbow BBQ.
On Friday, May 9, we ask students and families to bring a note and/or drawing for your teacher. Check your child’s Thursday folder today for a coloring page, or make your own! If you are looking for more ideas, feel free to consult the staff wish list. Gifts are never expected; as Ms. Holden said at yesterday’s Coffee w/ the Principal, teachers value notes and words of appreciation above all else!
If you would like to donate to offset the costs of TAW, we gratefully accept contributions here.
Thursday, May 8 is the Eagles Can Code Event; come see all the amazing coding projects students have done! If you would like to help, sign-up here!

EAGLE CREST MUSIC FESTIVAL & FAMILY PICNIC – MAY 22
Join us on the last day of school, Thursday, May 22nd, for our annual Music Festival and Family Picnic! Students will perform by grade level in the gym throughout the morning, and families are invited to picnic on the school grounds anytime between 11:00 AM and 12:45 PM. Bring a blanket and lunch, and enjoy the day at your own pace—before or after your child’s performance. Full schedule and performance times are listed on our website, and recordings will be shared via Infinite Campus for those who can't attend in person. We can’t wait to celebrate the year with music, community, and fun!
KINDERGARTEN ENROLLMENT
If you have a rising Kindergarten student or know a family with a child who will turn five before October 1st, now is the time to register for Kindergarten! Early registration allows us to plan effectively for teachers and resources by giving us a clearer picture of our incoming student numbers. We are also currently accepting students through open enrollment, so even if a family does not live within our immediate neighborhood, they may still apply to join our Eagle Crest community. To learn more and complete the enrollment process, visit SVVSD Enrollment. We are happy to offer Kindergarten tours—just contact the main office to schedule one. It’s always a joy to welcome new families to Eagle Crest!
