Dear SHS Community,

I hope this newsletter finds you well. Please be mindful of our district calendar as we are approaching a break - schools will be closed from Monday, November 4th - Friday, November 8th. In addition, the district will have a one session day for students on October 31st to provide staff professional development. Congratulations to our Girls Volleyball Team who became the first team in New Jersey to achieve 1,000 wins. We also wish them luck as they compete for the Hudson County Championship Title tomorrow at 2:00 PM in County Prep High School, Jersey City. We encourage all to attend the annual Haunted High School Junior Fundraiser at Secaucus High School on Saturday, October 26th at 4:00 pm.

On Tuesday, October 22nd, Red Bulls Arena hosted a Career Day for local high school students to explore the facility and learn about the various aspects of the business of sports, such as marketing, operations, finance, legal, and audio/visual. Several junior and senior students attended and received first-hand knowledge and valuable advice from professionals in the field.

The Secaucus High School Counseling Department invites all parents to attend our Annual Financial Aid Night, where we will have a financial aid professional walk you through everything you need to know about funding your child’s future education!

Students are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to meet with college admissions representatives and receive an on-the-spot decision. Read through the guidelines set by each college, posted in the Guidance Google Classroom, to determine whether you qualify.

Each year, our school hosts a High School Open House evening for our parent community. This program is provided to give parents an overview of the academic and extracurricular programming available in our school. While the evening is geared toward 8th-grade parents, we extend the invite to all families who may want an early look at our high school. Attending parents will get a preview of the courses, services, clubs, and sports available to Secaucus High School students. The program will last about one hour and will allot time for parental Q&A.

All students are reminded to be in proper dress code each and every day which includes wearing the proper bottoms (khaki pants or sweatpants with the appropriate logo). Please see below for a point of reference.

The high school main office is also collecting gently used uniform items. All donations are greatly appreciated!
