WHAT DO PARENTS NEED TO KNOW ON THE FIRST DAY??
- The building opens at 7:00 AM. Students will be expected to vacate the building by 3:20 PM and by 2:10 on Wednesday.
- The tardy bell rings at 7:50.
- The main drop off point for car riders is the loop on the OR Turnpike side of the school.
- The bus loop (Providence Road) should not be used for drop off until after 7:30 in the morning and not until after 3:30 in the afternoon.
- Students who drive, should fill out the form for their parking tag immediately. Form is located below.
- Students can select a locker. Please fill out the form found behlow.
- Monday and Wednesday will be on a "Wednesday" schedule this week.
- Schedule changes are completed by filling out the form on the grade level Canvas page which will open Monday at 8:00. Schedule changes requested via email will not be honored. Schedule changes must be completed by 3:07 Friday.
- Students will be held accountable for wearing badges. If students turned in their badges, they are in the front pocket of their laptop bag OR in Student Services. Approximately 200 students did NOT turn in their badges. New badges should be purchased during the first week of school for $10.00. Due to safety regulations, students are required to wear their badges visible at all times.

FREE & REDUCED LUNCH - NOT JUST FOR LUNCH ANYMORE
For seniors, there are some colleges which will honor reduced applications IF it was approved their senior year. Don't let your students miss out on potential reduced costs.

Freshman students will receive a temporary badge on the first day of school. The Maintenance Dept will print badges as soon as the enrollment stabilizes with new entries and withdrawals.
The expectation of Oak Ridge School is ALL student will wear their badge all day every day!

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL INSTRUCTIONS
STUDENT ACCESS TO ORHS
Students are not allowed in the building before 7:00 am when staff is available for supervision. Students are expected to vacate the premises by 3:15 daily if not under the direct supervision of a teacher or coach. Students will NOT be allowed to remain in the Food Court to wait on a parent or a ride home. No supervision is provided after this time.

BACK TO SCHOOL BASH - Saturday, July 29, 2023 - 6:00 – 8:00 pm Blankenship Field
For all Classes – 2024-2027- There will be a food truck, ice cream, kickball, tug of war, corn hole, volleyball & more.
STUDENT SCHEDULES CHANGES - Schedule change requests will only be accepted from Monday, July 24, 2023 at 7:50 a.m. until Friday, July 28 at 3:30 p.m. Students will receive instructions on how to request a schedule change via their grade level Canvas pages.
Schedule change requests sent via email will NOT be processed.
SCHOOL PICTURES FOR GRADES 9 - 11 - Underclassmen pictures will be taken Friday, July 28 during school. In order to be in the yearbook, students must have picture taken; however, purchase is not required.

Masquers is our after school theatre club here at ORHS. UPDATE SKYWARD INFORMATION TO STAY CONNECTED
Parents, it is very important to check your Skyward account to ensure your personal information is up to date. If you haven't looked at it since your child was in elementary school, this might be a great time to review the information and submit changes.
Address changes are required to be verified by the Registrar, Rhonda Garrison, with appropriate documentation. Phone numbers and email changes can be sent to your student's administrator, or call Amy O'Rourke at 425-9607, in the Counseling Office.

Registration begins September 1, 2023 with points starting to accumulate on September 7th and cards have to be registered by December 31st to count for this year. The program runs through May 10, 2024.

How Can I Link My School Online?- Visit http://www.foodcity.com/schoolbucks
- Click the blue “Login” button under Customer Login
- Enter your username and password for your Food City online account.
- At the top of the page click, “My Account”. This will load the customer dashboard page.
- Below the Fuel Bucks section, you will find “My School Bucks” section. (The total school bucks earned will show here as well)
- Click the “Update School” link listed below. Select the school and click, “Save”
School Bucks-Store Level Enrollment
- Stores can enroll schools from VC Enroll for customers who do not have access to the internet. (Only HRCs and HCs have authorized access.)
- To do so they enter the customers ValuCard number, selected “Look UP” and select the school the customer has chosen in the School Bucks field.
Common Questions
- Why is my school not on my receipt? Schools are no longer listed on receipts but can be managed anytime from their online account.
- When does this begin/end? The program runs from SEPTEMBER 1 THROUGH MAY 9, 2023.
Deadline to register is December 31, 2023.
