2025-26 Calendar Adopted
2025-26 Academic Learning Calendar now available
The MISD Board of Trustees approved the 2025-26 Learning Calendar at its March 3 special called budget workshop meeting. The adopted calendar includes seven Pink Days, which are professional learning days for staff and days students do not attend school. The calendar also exceeds the state requirement to provide a minimum of 75,600 instructional minutes and 187 teacher contract days.
The first day of school is Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2025 and the last day is Thursday, May 21, 2026. The adopted calendar was Option A on the staff and parent survey. More than 1,700 responses were collected from multiple stakeholder groups through the survey that asked individuals to rank in order of preference four draft calendars. The adopted calendar was ranked as the most favorable option. Survey feedback on the calendar development showed that keeping a Pink Day hybrid style calendar was overwhelmingly supported with an 87 percent favored rating.
The four draft calendars were developed by the Calendar Committee made up of 60 members representing parents, teachers, staff, and campus and district leaders and parents. The committee met three times. The District Education Improvement Committee (DEIC) also provided input into this process.
