Hello SFiAM Families,

We are excited to introduce the No Room to Hate campaign—our schoolwide commitment to creating a more inclusive, respectful, and welcoming environment for all students. This initiative focuses on addressing harmful language through education, understanding, and connection before correction. Building a safe and supportive school community takes all of us—silence is not an option. Together, we will model respect, kindness, and what it means to be an upstander.

To help prepare for this initiative, we will be holding No Room to Hate trainings on Tuesday for all staff to ensure we are addressing these issues with care and consistency.

Additionally, starting March 3rd, we will implement a new cell phone policy to support a focused and engaged learning environment. Each student will receive a Yondr pouch, where they will secure their phone upon arrival and unlock it at the end of the school day. If you need to reach your child during school hours, please call the main office, and we will make sure they receive the message.

This week in advisory classes, students will focus on safe boundaries, problem-solving, and managing stress—topics that support their social-emotional growth. We encourage you to continue these conversations at home as well.

SFiAM is launching the No Room to Hate campaign—a schoolwide initiative aimed at fostering a more inclusive and respectful school climate. This campaign directly addresses the use of language that may be perceived as offensive or harmful, ensuring that we approach these issues with education, understanding, and connection before correction.

Creating a safe and welcoming environment requires all of us to be involved and proactive. The No Room to Hate campaign calls on our entire community to take a stand—silence is not an option. Together, we will model what it means to be upstanders and reinforce our commitment to a school culture built on respect and kindness.

Starting March 3rd, SFiAM will implement a new cell phone policy to help create a focused and engaging learning environment. Each student will be issued a Yondr pouch and will be expected to place their phone inside as they enter school. Phones will remain secured throughout the day and can be unlocked at one of the designated unlocking stations before students leave campus.

If parents need to get an important message to their child during the school day, they can call the main office, and we will ensure the message is delivered.

In the event of an emergency, teachers will unlock pouches when it is safe to do so. During emergencies, it is crucial that students give their full attention to staff directions to ensure everyone’s safety. Once it is safe, students will be allowed to access their phones.
