Important Updates

IAR (3rd-5th grade) Assessments

Dear Third, Fourth, and Fifth Grade Parents/Guardians,

Davis Students in grades 3 through 5 will be taking state tests in mathematics on the mornings of April 8-10. This is the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR)

Please avoid scheduling appointments or absences on these mornings if possible.

In order for your student to do his/her personal best , please make sure that he/she:

Gets a good night’s sleep
Eats breakfast
Arrives to school on time
Brings chromebook fully charged to school

Outside food is not allowed for students

Students are able to bring their lunch each day to school or they can get lunch at school through our food service provider, Organic Life. We do not accept fast food for students at Davis. Please do not drop off or have food sent to Davis for your child. If you would like to have lunch with your child, you can come to the main office and sign them out during their lunch & recess period.

In addition, please do not send your child to school in the morning with breakfast items or beverages other than water bottles. Students may eat the Breakfast offered at school through our food service provider, Organic Life. Any other breakfast or beverage should be consumed at home. Thank you for your cooperation.

Use of Cell Phones and Smart Watches

Students are extended the privilege of possessing phones/smartwatches on school grounds; however, their use is limited to after-school dismissal and non-school days. These devices must be in the off position on school grounds, including bus transportation. We would appreciate you monitoring your child’s cell phone use to ensure they are not using them during school hours. If you would like more information on our student handbook, please click below.

Please note that parents will not be receiving a paper copy of the Student Handbook. It is the responsibility of each family to review the Elementary Handbook and Discipline Procedures with their children. Thank you for your support.

5th Grade News

Musical Field Trip

Davis 5th Grade Students enjoyed an exciting trip to Norris Auditorium at St. Charles East High School this week. The High School musicians shared a beautiful program and inspired 5th graders to continue their study of music. Our students heard about the bonds formed between fellow musicians and the exciting experiences available to them in the upper grades. Music is one of the many ways that D303 accomplishes our mission of success and belonging for each student!

2nd Graders Celebrate Holidays Around the World

Davis 2nd grade students enjoyed visiting each other's classroom and learning about Spring Holiday Celebrations in 5 different countries. The students were able to spend time with other 2nd graders and enjoy a craft and activity for each holiday.

Hanami - Japanese Cherry Blossom Festival
HOLI - Hindu celebration of spring and new life
Earth Day - Environmental awareness and protection
Songkran - Sanskrit holiday involving house cleaning and gathering together
Dutch Flower Parade - Floats covered with flowers form a long parade

Tumbling in Physical Education

Watch DOGS Needed Friday Afternoons

Dads/male guardians/grandpas/uncles/adult brothers etc. - this is your opportunity to interact with and provide positive male role models for Davis students.
We need 4 volunteers every Friday from 11:15-1:25.
