These changes aim to create a safer environment for our students and families. Councilmember Parker (Ward 5) is requesting community feedback on the proposed improvements, which also include ideas for the Benning Road Bridge and RFK redevelopment. Share your thoughts by completing the survey here: https://ward5.us/edhillsurvey

Donate Items or Ideas to the Annual School Auction!
Do you bake pies? Do you have Nats tickets? Do you know a great local business that could donate a gift card? The PTA is currently collecting items for our annual auction fundraiser, which is the primary way we raise money each year to fund teacher grants, field trips, schoolwide events and enrichment programs. If you make crafts, cater food, provide a service or could donate another experience, the PTA wants to hear from you. Reach out to info@jowilsonpta.org. And save the date for the Cardinal Auction Night Party!
When: Friday, May 2, from 6 to 10 p.m.
Where: Skyline 609 (609 H St NE)
Tickets will go on sale this month. Weβll have childcare provided by J.O. Wilson staff at Pilgrim Baptist Church, for current J.O. Wilson students only.
We are Excited to Host Career Day(s) on May 29 & 30 β And We Need Your Help!Β
We are looking for parents, family members, and community professionals to share their careers and experiences with our students. This is a wonderful opportunity to inspire the next generation and help them explore different career paths. Due to space limitations, Career Day will be split into two separate events this year:
Outdoor Career Day: Thursday, May 29, from 8:45 to 11:30 a.m. at Phelps Field (26th Street)
Indoor Career Day: Friday, May 30, from 8:50 to 10:40 a.m. at J.O. Wilson ES (810 26th Street NE)
If you or someone you know is interested in presenting, please contact Massiell Guzman (Massiell.GuzmanFrias@k12.dc.gov) or Victoria Winter (Victoria.Winter@k12.dc.gov).
We are currently seeking volunteers to help make both days a success! Parent participation is especially appreciated β the more, the merrier! On the first day, students will travel by foot to Phelps Field, and our younger scholars will need extra support along the way. Please contact Ms. Guzman if you are interested in volunteering on either day. We appreciate your support in making this a fun and meaningful event for our students!
