📚🔔 Attendance Matters! 🔔📚
As partners in your child's education, we wanted to take a moment to emphasize the critical importance of regular school attendance.
While it may seem like missing a day here or there isn't a big deal, the truth is that absences can add up quickly, significantly impacting your child's academic progress and future success.
Consider this:
➡️ Missing 2 Days a Month:
- Results in missing 20 days of school per year.
- Equals to missing 30 hours of crucial math instruction.
- Translates to missing 60 hours of essential reading and writing activities.
- By graduation, this adds up to missing over a year of schooling.
➡️ Missing 4 Days a Month:
- Leads to missing 40 days of school annually.
- Means missing 60 hours of vital math lessons throughout the school year.
- Results in missing 120 hours of critical reading and writing sessions.
- By 8th-grade graduation, this equates to missing over 2 years of schooling.
These statistics highlight the profound impact of irregular attendance on your child's academic journey. It's not just about the missed days; it's about the missed opportunities for learning and growth.
💡 Why Attendance Matters:
- Regular attendance fosters a strong academic foundation.
- Consistent participation enhances social and emotional development.
- It instills discipline and responsibility, essential life skills for success.
- Building good attendance habits now sets the stage for future success in higher education and the workforce.
🤝 We're Here to Help:
- If your child is experiencing challenges that affect their attendance, please reach out to us. We're here to support you and your child every step of the way.
- Let's work together to address any obstacles to attendance and ensure your child has every opportunity to thrive academically and socially.
📅 Mark Your Calendar:
- Please prioritize school attendance and schedule appointments and vacations outside of school hours whenever possible.
- Encourage your child to see school as a priority and emphasize the importance of being present and engaged in their learning journey.
Thank you for your continued partnership in your child's education. Together, we can help them reach their full potential and achieve academic success.
Fast Food Lunches
Fast Food Lunches
We kindly request your support in upholding our wellness policy by providing nutritious lunches for your children, while discouraging the inclusion of fast food. However, we understand that there may be exceptional circumstances or special occasions where fast food is necessary. In such instances, we urge parents to consider healthier alternatives, such as subs. Please be aware that our guidelines regarding the prohibition of soda and portion sizes apply universally, whether the lunch is brought from home or purchased from a fast food establishment.
In order to maintain an environment conducive to focused learning, MCP has instituted a policy that strictly prohibits the delivery of food by third-party companies, including but not limited to; UberEats, Grubhub, and DoorDash. Additionally, attempts to deliver food by individuals not identified on the scholar's MCP profile will be denied. Likewise, we cannot accept or accommodate food deliveries made by parents/ guardians after the scholar's designated lunch period has ended. Any such deliveries will either be declined or disposed of accordingly. It is important to emphasize that MCP lacks the necessary refrigeration space and oversight to safely monitor food left for scholars outside of the specified policy guidelines outlined above.
Forward Testing
Dear Parent/Guardian:
Wisconsin Students in Grades 3rd-8th will be participating in the Forward assessment during the March 18th - April 26th testing window.
The Forward assessment tests students in the areas of Mathematics and English Language Arts. In addition, 4th and 8th graders will be assessed in Social Studies and Science. One or more subtests may be administered daily during the identified time frame and it is very important that your son or daughter be in school during this time. Students not in school on the scheduled testing days will be scheduled for a make-up test prior to the close of the testing window.
Here is an Informational Brochure for Families which gives more information about the assessment including its purpose, what scores will be provided, and how the scores will be used.
The Forward assessment measures the knowledge and skills your student(s) should have acquired by the time they reach each grade level. Their performance on the assessment will not affect any of their current grades. Please encourage your son or daughter to take the test seriously and do the best they can. The results of these tests will be used to help school staff make determinations or placement in classes to best support your child(ren).
