A Note From Mrs. Collyer
This is not goodbye, just see you later!
Dear Coolidge Families,
I wanted to send you a quick note to say "Thank You". Thank you for welcoming me into the Coolidge Family six years ago. Thank you for sharing your children with me as we made memories that will be treasured forever in my heart. Thank you for supporting myself along with my staff as we continue to build solid relationships, student growth and just overall good humans. I will miss my Coolidge Family but will have many opportunites to support Livonia in my new role. I will make sure to check back in with our Coolidge students and staff. I wish you a wonderful holiday season and in the week ahead I'm looking forward to spending time with our Coolidge Cougars.
LOOKING FOR A WAY TO SAY THANK YOU TO A STAFF MEMBER THIS HOLIDAY SEASON?
Some parents have asked the PTA to provide them with ideas for holiday gifts for the staff. This is a compilation of Coolidge Staff members favorite things if you find yourself needing help with some ideas for holiday gifts. Please know that gifts are never expected but very much appreciated.

Coolidge Drop off and Pick up Procedures
The Loop (Highly Recommended) – The loop can be used for drop off or pick up. Students should remain in their cars until the car has come to a complete stop in the painted half circle area. Please do not let your child out of the car, or wave your child to your car, while you are in any other part of the loop area or driveway. Do not leave the loop area until the vehicle in front of you has left. Please remain alert and ready to move forward with traffic.
The Parking lot - The parking lot can be used for drop off or pick up. Your car should be parked in a parking spot and you will need to walk your child to and from the school doors. Your child should NEVER be in the parking lot without you at their side. The ONLY place that parking or sitting is permitted, is in a designated parking space. Parking anywhere else could prevent our buses from coming or going. (Using the loop is easier.)
PTA NEWS AND INFORMATION
HELP NEEDED!!!
-Our comfort for a cause YMAD projects will continue this month on Tuesday 12/10 and Tuesday 12/17. We would love to have 6-8 volunteers on each day so that we can invite down more students to participate. This project occurs during recess and involves our young fives and kindergartners making cards and students in 1st - 4th grades making no sew fleece blankets. We invite one classroom from each grade during these events. The goal is to invite all classrooms at least 2 times so that as many students that want to participate can. January and February dates will be determined once we know our work schedules.
YMAD Comfort for a Cause Volunteers
-Our next spirit store sale will occur on Wednesday 12/18 during recess. Please use the link below to sign up to help if you are available to do so. We are in need of at least 8 volunteers to open our store for students.
Spirit Sticks
-We will be opening our spirit store during recess on Wednesday 12/18. Spirit sticks are $1 each and spirit stickers $3 each. If planning to participate, please send no more than $5 in a labeled envelope/bag on the day of the sale. We could still use a few more volunteers, check out the sign up on our website if you are interested in helping out.
Family Night
We are hosting our first comfort for a cause family night on Friday January 17th from 5:30-7:30 (50 minute time slots). Please use the sign up below if you are interested in attending. We are making no sew fleece blankets for patients at Sinai Grace hospital in Detroit. We will supply the fabric, templates and space. We do also have some extra pairs of scissors that can be borrowed. If you have your own fabric scissors, please sign up for one of the "bring your own" scissor slots as we do not have enough for all stations.

Holiday Shop paid orders
If an item was out of stock when your child shopped at our holiday shop this past week it is guaranteed to arrive at the school before our winter break. As soon as the items arrive at the school, they will be bagged and distributed to classrooms to go home. Last year the company had our items at the school within about a week.
Movie Night
We are planning a movie night for the week we return from winter break. We will be showing Despicable Me 4 on Friday 1/10/25. The movie will start at 6pm. Admission is free and there will be concessions & water available for purchase. This is a fun family event, adults must remain on site for the duration of the movie. If you are interested in helping, please reach out to Jenna Kuhn at treasurer@coolidgecougarspta.org
