Principal Updates
Hello PUE Families,
We made it! This is the last Friday newsletter of the 2023-2024 school year. The last day of school is Wednesday 6/26 for tracks 2, 3, and 4.
Our 5th Grade Promotion ceremonies will also be on Wed. 6/25. For Tr. 4 it is at 9:30, and for Tr. 2 and 3, it will be at 10:45. Doors will open for seating 15 minutes before the ceremony. We are proud of all of the hard work that our 5th graders have put into elementary school over the past six years. We know you will make PUE proud as you move on to middle school!
For those returning to PUE for the 24-25 school year, the first day of school for Tr. 1, 2, and 3 will be Monday, 7/8. Your child's new teacher will reach out during the first week of July to introduce themselves. For those that did not order supply boxes, supply lists can be found here. Open house for those tracks will be Tuesday, 7/23 from 5pm-6:30pm.
Track 4's first day will be Monday, 7/29. Teachers will reach out in mid-July to introduce themselves. Open House for Tr. 4 is 8/13 from 5pm-6:30pm. Open House this year will continue to be floating so that you can attend at any point during that time frame to meet your child's new teacher.
As a final note for the year, thank you to all of our wonderful students and teachers for another amazing year at PUE! We've been honored to serve this community and look forward to next year!

2024 PUE Virtual Talent Show
Our 2024 PUE Virtual Talent Show is complete. Please take some time to enjoy all of the many talents that our Panthers have to offer! https://flip.com/mixtapes/+9f893
Carpool Lane Reminders
As a reminder, during morning carpool, do not cut through the parking lot. We have many staff, as well as students walking through the parking lot at various times and do not want an accident to happen.
Also, carpool lane remains 2 lanes until you get close to the carpool circle. This helps us prevent the carpool line from stretching onto the road for too long.
Front Office Reminder
Please remember that per WCPSS policy, any visitor to a school must sign-in at the front office with a photo ID. Please make sure to have a government-issued ID when planning on visiting the school.
2024-25 Carpool Updates
In an effort to increase safety, everyone must have a PUE issued carpool tag to pick up students through carpool. Anyone without a tag will be asked to park and pick up their child from the front office. Each family will receive two newly designed carpool tags at the beginning of next school year. Note for families that carpool: the adult will need the carpool tag of each student -- not just the number. Students with a number above 400 will be assigned a new number next school year. New carpool tags can be picked up on the first day of school. Please direct any questions or concerns to Ms. McNeill (jmcneill2@wcpss.net).
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our students safe!

Call for PTA Leadership
Are you interested in volunteering for a leadership role with the PTA? We are actively looking for volunteers to serve on our PTA Audit committee for next year! It's a critical role for us, as it keeps our PTA unit in compliance with the Wake County PTA. This is a great opportunity for detail-oriented people who want to be involved, and who prefer work that is fully remote, can be done on your own schedule, involves NO meetings - and makes a big difference! You just review the Treasurer's reports on a monthly basis and complete the annual review checklist at the end of the year. Interested or want to know more? Please reach out to Treasurer@puepta.com.
If you are interested in other leadership opportunities, contact Katie at communicationvp@puepta.com.
Teacher Appreciation and Support
PUE teachers and staff work hard to create the amazing community and learning environment at school. To show our gratitude, the PTA has created a Wishlist of items to stock our teachers' lounge so that our staff can enjoy refreshments during their lunches/breaks. Click here if you would like to donate. Thank you to all of the families who have already donated to the teachers' lounge! We appreciate your contributions!
