Social Committee Newsletter

Fall has "fallen" upon us. I can't help but to think back as a child and remember what it felt like to grow up during fall. I always looked forward to watching, Charlie Brown's, "It's the Great Pumpkin". (Even though as an adult I now realize how mean Lucy was. Geese, she definitely did not follow a social contract!) Ha ha. I hope fall brings you happiness with cooler temperatures, the joy of fallen leaves, carving pumpkins and the spookiness of Halloween.

The Social Due drive ended on September 30th. Thanks to all staff who were able to get their social dues turned in either on or before this date. We have two teams that will be receiving lunch for getting their social dues in first. The interventionist team got their dues turned in before the kick off even began and the fourth grade team was the first team to get their dues turned in as soon as kick off started. Congratulations to you both. Rachel Hernandez is the lucky individual winning staff member that will receive a gift card for turning in social dues. I will get with all the winners to work out the details soon. Once again thanks to all staff members who turned in their social dues. I know with all that you have going on, adding one more thing on your plate makes it difficult. If you have not turned in your social dues please don't worry you can turn them in as soon as your able to.

A big huge THANK YOU to KATIE HAMILTON for volunteering to be the treasurer for the social dues drive. It is a lot of work to keep up with all the money, getting it tabulated in turned in. You Rock Hamilton!

A huge SHOUT OUT and THANK YOU to LORIN MULLINS for decorating the new bulletin board in the teacher's lounge for all Berkman staff to use and enjoy. This will be an area for sharing photos, posting upcoming events and giving affirmations. Please take some time to look at the board and share with the staff. (coming soon- die cut for you to write your affirmations on)

Starting October we will be having WARDROBE WEDNESDAY! This is totally optional for all the Berkman staff. This is just another way to have a little fun and spread a little cheer. Each month in the news letter there will be a calendar of themes for each Wednesday of the month. You can wear just a little bit of the theme or a lot of the theme. It is totally up to you. The last Wednesday of the month will be a little on the crazier side. Please consider participating in the fun. Again it is totally optional.

*Oct. 29- Halloween/Fall shirts (can not be anything gory or scary)
