Principal's Message
Greetings, Ericson Families,
I want to extend a thank you to all the parent volunteers who made this past week's barbecue lunch such a fun and memorable event! It was wonderful to see parents connecting with their children and enjoying the day together on campus. Your support is greatly appreciated!
I also want to express my gratitude to those who participated in our Running Club this week. It’s fantastic to see students embracing an active lifestyle, and I encourage even more students to join us next week. For those interested, we look forward to another great week of running!
As a reminder, school will resume on Tuesday, January 21st, after the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday. Please note that school will be closed on Monday, January 20th in observance of the holiday.
For morning drop-off, we kindly ask that parents use the Viking drop-off zone where they can safely drop their students off. Please pull forward into the orange cone zone and allow your student to exit the vehicle from the passenger side. This helps keep the line moving smoothly. The Viking drop-off is intended for students who can independently get out of the car and walk to class. For safety and efficiency, adults should remain in their vehicles, and we ask that you refrain from getting out of the car to assist with car seats or accompanying your child to class. This will help avoid slowdowns that can back up the line and block the sidewalk, which can be dangerous. If you need to assist your child to class, please consider finding street parking and walking your child onto campus. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our drop-off process as quick and safe as possible for all students.
Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to seeing everyone back on campus on Tuesday!
With Warm Regards,
Principal Mrs. Ashton
Thank you to the parent volunteers who came to support the Cali-Q BBQ event. We appreciate your support!

Snapshot of What's Happening at Ericson!
Thank you to FOE for bringing the World of Jazz Assembly to our school. Students were able to learn about the evolution of Jazz music and gain music education. This is one of the many ways FOE uses the funds from fundraising to provide learning experiences for all Ericson students.
Our Kindergarten students got a Jello Party for meeting their sight word goals. Way to go Kindergarten Viking Scholars!
Counselor's Update
Hello Ericson Families,
This week at our Ericson marks the beginning of our lunch bunch groups. I am happy to say that it has gone really well and our first groups of students are really enjoying hanging out and socializing during lunch with students they might not usually talk with. We are utilizing our new counseling center (Official name TBA at a later date) in the library to host our lunch groups as well as some of my lessons in the future. For our lessons this week, Kindergarten students learned about caring and helping. First grade students worked on calming down anger, 2nd graders learned about how to solve problems, 3rd graders read "Just Kidding", a book about how teasing can be hurtful. Our awesome 4th graders dove into managing their anxiety and 5th grade had the week off due to our Jazz Assembly. Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Mr. Z
