Update from Mrs. Lomonico
Dear TGE Families,
It is hard to believe we are almost to the mid way point in March! I wanted to take a moment to share some important updates and reminders.
First, I would like to express my gratitude for your continued support, positivity, and partnership in fostering a thriving learning environment at Toll Gate Elementary. We are all working together towards a common goal - helping our students grow and become responsible citizens.
Student Focus: Grit, Stamina, and #GatorUp! Our students have shown incredible grit and stamina in their academic pursuits. I encourage each student to continue harnessing these qualities, using them to achieve and grow. Our collective aim is to LEVEL UP (GATOR UP!), ensuring every student is reaching their fullest potential. Whether it's closing gaps or stretching capabilities, every effort counts in the journey of academic excellence.
Fee Payments: A gentle reminder to families with past-due fees - your prompt attention to clearing these fees is greatly appreciated. Your contributions directly support various aspects of your child's education and school experience. If you are not sure if you owe any fees, please call the school office at 614.834.6300.
Spring Break Reminder: As we immerse ourselves in the school routine, it's important to note that spring break is just around the corner. The break will commence on March 25, 2024. I hope our TGE family takes this opportunity to relax, recharge, and return with renewed energy for the remainder of the school year.
TGE SPIRIT WEAR: Don't miss the opportunity to showcase your Toll Gate Elementary pride with our exclusive TGE swag. Visit our online store https://logoimages.us/tollgategators/ for a fantastic selection of Toll Gate Elementary merchandise.

TGE Science Night: We are beyond thrilled to bring The Works to TGE on April 3 during the day to springboard into our TGE Science night on April 3. Information is below, and I will also be sending home more information and VIDEOS to you (over the next couple of weeks) about this evening! This event is 100% free of charge!
TGE 1st Annual Golf Outing is May 19, 2024: Join us for a GREAT time! Golfing is limited to 36 foursomes, and it is first come first serve. For anyone who wants to sponsor or donate, please feel free to do so. We will also have student signs that you can put in your yard after the outing as well (in the sponsorship document)! Please reach out if you have any questions!
Thank you once again for your ongoing dedication to the Toll Gate Elementary community. Together, we create an environment where our students can flourish and build the foundations of responsible citizenship. This is a LONG newsletter. Please take time to look through all of it. :)

PLSD Community Festival is March 16 @ TGMS!
Pickerington Schools CommUNITY Cultural Festival will host a special viewing of The Columbus Crossing Borders Art Project on March 16th!
The Columbus Crossing Borders Project is an art exhibit and documentary film created to inspire critical thinking, understanding and compassion for the world's refugees and marginalized communities.
Our CommUNITY Cultural Festival will showcase the Columbus Crossing Borders art exhibit which features the work of 34 participating artists who were each asked to create a painting that would "cross borders" into the painting beside it. For example, you may see a sunrise reaching from one painting into the next or perhaps a figure is running between two paintings. These artists have created spaces to allow their works to overlap and integrate, resulting in a cooperative creative community. To view a short Cincinnati TV news feature about the art exhibit: https://vimeo.com/509029709
The "Breathe Free" documentary is a beautiful and thought-provoking film which premiered at the Drexel Theatre in Columbus, Ohio to a sold-out audience. This film is a great watch prior to viewing the Crossing Borders art exhibit in person to get a greater understanding of the project. To view the documentary (50 minutes): https://vimeo.com/480142967/d1a019265d?share=copy
We look forward to you attending, and seeing the Columbus Crossing Borders Project in person at our CommUNITY Cultural Festival on March 16th at Toll Gate Middle School from 10am - 2pm!
Panorama is coming soon!
