Principal Update
- Congratulations to Mr. Eberts who is now officially the principal for Reams beginning July 1, 2024. He was approved during the CCPS School Board meeting this past week. Check out the picture of Mr. Eberts with his family!
- Thank you to Girl Scouts troop 3654 which completed and donated a "Buddy Bench" to Reams recently. This is a spot where students can sit if they are looking for a friend to play with at recess. The scouts raised the funds to purchase the bench this past fall.
Summer School registration closes on May 28. This is an amazing opportunity for students to continue their learning for four weeks this summer. It also provides an Extended Day opportunity. All of this is free and includes breakfast and lunch! Learning and fun to stay Rams Strong! See below for the registration information.
We are looking forward to seeing our former Reams Rams who are graduating from Monacan on Monday, May 20, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. for our first ever Monacan Senior Parade.
Our first graders will perform on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at 6:00 p.m.
Our fifth graders will end the year with the 4th quarter Awards Assembly followed by a 5th grade only picnic and activities on May 31, 2024. Please see the letter sent home with your student.
All other grades will have Awards Assemblies the last week of school. See the dates below for exact dates and times. Invitations will be sent home this week.

Spring Title I Survey
- Please take time to complete this survey! We need your input and appreciate your help.
- It is time again for families to complete the annual Title I Survey. We use this information to support all of our students and families through out Title I Funds. For example, we review your input to plan our Family Engagement events.
- The Title I Family Engagement survey closes on May 31, 2024 and is available in six languages. Please use this survey link or the QR code to complete the survey. Thanks so much!
Summer School Information
- Registration for in-person summer school closes May 28. Fill in learning gaps. Strengthen skills. Get ahead. Whatever your motivation, summer school can help make summer count!
- Parents should complete the Transportation Change Form if transportation needs are different for the summer than the regular year. Otherwise, your child will follow the transportation currently listed in Parent Vue.
- Summer School will be held at Reams from June 24-July 18.
#Attendance Matters
- With only nine school days left, it is important for students to be here each day. We are reinforcing what has been learned and working on projects and making those last weeks of school memories.
- Did you know that clinic visits impact time in class? When a student visits the clinic because learning is hard or they just want a break, they may miss five or more minutes of class. This can add up quickly.
Special Education Survey
The School Year 2023-2024 Indicator 8 Parent Involvement Survey collection period has begun for special education. This survey is for families of students receiving special education services. The online survey is the preferred method of submission and is available at:
You may also use the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) flyer to use the QR code. You may request a paper copy as well. The survey closes December 13, 2024.Mrs. Seitz's Send Off Spirit Week
We will have a Spirit Week the last week of school as follows:
- Tuesday, May 28: Our Future is Bright! Wear sunglasses and a favorite hat.
- Wednesday, May 29: Reading makes Mrs. Seitz happy! Wear a shirt with words.
- Thursday, May 30: We are lost without Mrs. Seitz. Wear mismatched socks.
- Friday, May 31: Shell-abrate being Rams! Wear your favorite Reams gear along with party accessories.
End of Year Medication Pickup
- Medications provided to the school clinic for your child must be picked up by the student’s parent/guardian. Medications must be available for your student’s use through the last day of school, which is May 31, 2024. All remaining student medications, including over-the-counter medications, may be picked from the school clinic during normal school hours on June 3 & 4th.
- After 4 p.m. June 4, all leftover medications will be packed and turned over to the Chesterfield County Police Department for proper disposal. Once medications are packed for police collection, they cannot be retrieved so it is important you pick up medications on time. There can be no late pickups permitted, and no medications can be stored at the school during the summer.
All medications must be picked up even if your student will attend summer school. Parents of summer school students will need to provide medication for your student to the summer school coordinator at the site your child will be attending at the beginning of the summer session. Please contact your child’s school nurse to request a copy of the medication order for all medications being administered during summer school.
If your student will need prescription medication at school in August, please make sure to have the needed order completed prior to the first day of school.
There are two medication request forms. One is for prescription medications and one is for over-the-counter medications. Both forms are available on the school division’s website for your convenience. https://www.oneccps.org/page/health-and-wellness
Summer Fun
- All students will receive a summer learning bag complete with a summer choice board and a book for their grade level. CBG students will have their own book as well. Students may have a chance to choose their own book to bring home as well.
- We encourage our students to work on the choice board, work in Lexia, Dreambox, or Imagine Math over the summer, and read books.
- We also encourage our students to visit the public library.
Reminders
- Students will need to return their bus card by May 30, 2024. Please look around the house if your student does not have this card for scanning on the bus on their bookbag. Teachers have to check off who has returned their bus card.
- Our last day of school is May 31, 2024. It is a full day of school. Students will take home their report cards on the last day.
- Parents may ask for their student to be separated from another student. They may also describe a type of teacher their student may need. They may not request a specific teacher.
- Students should dress appropriately for the warmer weather and for outdoor recess.
- Lost and Found items will be donated at the end of the year. The pile is huge again and includes lunch boxes, water bottles, hats, sweatshirts, coats, and more.
2024-2025
- We are still accepting registration for Kindergarten students for next year. Online registration is available on the school division's website.
- We will have our annual Tailgate and Back to School event on August 15, 2024. Grades 3-5 will be from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Grades K-2 will be from 6:00-7:00 p.m.
