Message from Administration
Dear Families,
Fabulous Field Day 2024!
We had so much fun! We could not have asked for better weather. Field Day was a huge success. Thank you to our amazing PE team, Mrs. Lindauere and Mrs. Wasson for planning, organizing, and executing this fun event. Thank you to all the parent volunteers throughout the day! The weather was just perfect and lent itself to a great experience for children and adults. We had over 220 parent volunteers to support us and cheer on our student athletes as they navigated all the rotations.
Thank you to our amazing PTA who graciously donated freeze pops for our amazing lions. Thank you as well to the wonderful Lisbon staff, the PE staff appreciates and thanks each one of you.
Field Day is one of those memorable events, many of us remember into our adult years. A lot of this is due to the high number of parent volunteers who make this possible. Thanks again for your gift of time and looking forward to seeing you again in 2025.
Just a reminder, if you have not already done so please register for bus transportation for the 2024-2025 school year. The deadline for registration has been extended to JUNE 5th. Parents/guardians whose children are eligible for bus transportation must register to receive bus service each year to help the school system plan for student transportation needs. Lisbon is only 67% complete. Please see specific information below.
Thank you!
Debra A. Anoff, Principal

2024-2025 Bus Service Registration
Parents/guardians whose children are eligible for bus transportation are asked to register to receive bus service each year to help the school system plan for student transportation needs. The transportation registration process will open at 9 a.m. Monday, April 8 through June 5, and will be completed online via HCPSS Connect Synergy. Registration must be done for each eligible child.
To be eligible for bus service, your child’s home address must be outside of a school’s walk zones. You can verify address eligibility in the HCPSS School Attendance Area Locator. After inputting your address, a window will appear that will indicate either bus or walk for each school level. Please note, the attendance area locator also includes a link for the bus stop locator, which is set for the current school year. Bus stop information for the 2024-2025 school year will be available in August.
You do not need to take any action if:
- Your child is not eligible for bus transportation
- Your child receives transportation as part of their Individualized Education Program (IEP) or 504 Plan, or
- Your child is a graduating senior
Details on bus transportation registration, including a guide to register and scenarios families may see when registering, can be found online.

Did You Move? Are You Moving?
According to HCPSS Policy 9000 - Student Residency, Eligibility, Enrollment, and Assignment, "A student attending a public school in Howard County will attend the designated school serving the school attendance area in which the parents have bona fide residence."
If you have moved or are moving soon, please notify us immediately. Please do not wait for us to find out through other means. We can assist you with transitioning to your child's new school. Whether it be another HCPSS school, a private school, or a school out of the HCPSS district, we are here to help. If you are transferring to another HCPSS school, our registrars will partner to make the transition as smooth as possible.
If you have an address change, please fill out the attached fillable Address Change Form below and email it back to us with your new deed or lease. This way, we can electronically verify your school district and update your new address on file. If you have any questions, contact our registrar, Mrs. Linda Drews at linda_drews@hcpss.org
It is very important for us to have the most accurate information about your residency.

Glenwood Middle School PTSA
Calling all rising 5th grade parents ..
Glenwood Middle School eagerly awaits your student’s arrival in August. We have a very active, robust PTSA that follows in Lisbon’s footsteps of supporting our educators and creating a strong, connected community of students and families.
We hope you’ll join us in the fall! Stay on top of event announcements and news by following our Facebook page “Glenwood Middle PTSA.”
Look out for a "Parent Social" in August for our GMS parents and events for your students for 2024/2025 school year.
In the meantime, we are desperately seeing a Treasurer to join our executive board. You don’t necessarily need to be a “numbers person” to fulfill the duties. Just organized, understands budgets and competent with spreadsheets! You will have lots if support from current and past Board members.
To learn more or to throw your hat in the ring, please contact PTSA president Rebekah Noven at novenfamily@gmail.com. Thanks in advance!!
