A Message From Mrs. Adams

I am writing to inform you of an unfortunate incident that occurred in our school parking lot this morning. One of our students was struck by a vehicle during drop-off.

Law enforcement and EMS were immediately contacted, and the student is now recuperating at home. This incident serves as a crucial reminder of the importance of safety during drop-off and pick-up times, especially during dark morning hours with low visibility.

The safety of our students is our top priority, and we ask for your patience and cooperation in making the school parking lot a safe environment for everyone. With this in mind, we would like to remind all parents and guardians to please follow these important safety guidelines:

1. Drive Slowly: Even if you are running late, it is essential to slow down and be cautious, particularly in areas where students are present.

2. Stay Alert: Please avoid using your phone or engaging in other distractions while driving in the school parking lot.

3. Follow Traffic Rules: Be sure to adhere to all posted signs, crosswalks, and speed limits. These rules are in place to protect our students.

4. Yield to Pedestrians: Children may not always be aware of their surroundings, so please yield to students and crossing guards.

5. Do Not Double Park: Double parking can obstruct visibility and create hazardous situations for other drivers and pedestrians.

6. Use Designated Drop-Off Zones: Following the designated zones helps ensure smooth traffic flow and keeps our students safe.
