Worth Knowing
Worthington School District Newsletter

Itβs that time of year in Worthington Schools when βsenioritisβ isnβt just showing up with our seniors βit feels like itβs drifting down to our kindergarten classrooms. High schoolers are counting down the days. Middle schoolers are watching and learning. Even our youngest Cardinals and Wolves sense that somethingβs shifting.
Across our schools, this stretch of the year can feel like a strange mix of exhaustion and urgency. Teachers and staff are pouring every last bit of energy into these final weeks, sometimes wondering if what weβve worked so hard to teach is truly sticking.
And thenβjust when we start to wonderβsomething beautiful happens.
It might be a group of seniors returning to visit their elementary school for senior tea. It might be a recognition ceremony, a final concert, or one last athletic contest. And sometimes, itβs the tears.
Not every senior cries. Not every year. And not always the ones we expect.
Sometimes itβs the quiet studentβthe one who said they were βso ready to be done,β the one who kept to themselves or seemed checked out. Thatβs who ends up misty-eyed, standing in a hallway they havenβt walked in years. And when it happens, it stops us in our tracks.
