A Note from Principal DeVito
Good Afternoon Jaguar Nation!
I hope your family had a wonderful Halloween and enjoyed some extra rest with the time change! Our fall sports season is wrapping up next week, including volleyball, football, and cross country. Congratulations to our coaches and athletes for their hard work and commitment in establishing a successful inaugural season for our athletic programs. It has been inspiring to see the growth of our students from start to finish this year!
We are now four weeks into this 9-week grading period, and it’s a perfect time to check in on your student's progress in Skyward. Encouraging students to take ownership of their grades fosters independence and responsibility. One way to support this is to have your student log into Skyward on their Chromebook and guide you through each class. I recommend starting with classes where they are excelling and asking reflective questions such as, “What has contributed to your success in this class?” For classes where they may be facing challenges, consider questions like, “What small actions could help improve your performance here?” If there are questions or concerns, encourage your student to email their teacher to initiate the conversation, seek solutions, or schedule additional help.
Please remember that students have the opportunity to retake tests scoring below 90% to improve up to a 90%. Tutorials are also available before and after school for additional support. It is the student’s responsibility to inform you if they plan to stay after school for tutorials or other events.
In other news, campus leadership and Prosper ISD Parent Ambassadors are thrilled to offer campus tours for parents, grandparents, and community members. This is a great opportunity to connect with our school community and see the exciting things happening across Prosper ISD. Space is limited, so be sure to sign up through the provided link.
