Mission Statement
Our ECHS Owls are taught to have H.O.P.E.--faith in the premise that they can create OPPORTUNITY and a better future through EFFORT, HARD WORK, and PERSONAL COURAGE. This idea of H.O.P.E. is woven into the fabric of our ECHS family.
Greetings ECHS School Community!
We have already reached week three of the 2nd nine week period. Many thanks to all members of our school community for your support!
We continue to reinforce the following areas to help balance the workload for ECHS students & staff:
Giving grace: Working with students given extenuating circumstances.
Communicating ways to request assistance: Check-ins, class reminders, tutoring, one on one conversations, office hours and collaboration with parents.
Balancing dues dates: As a campus team, we work together to balance the weekly workload for our students as it pertains to assignments, projects and assessments.
Whether ECHS students, staff, parents or school community members, we can never go wrong when we offer grace to one another!
As a friendly reminder, Tuesday November 5th, is Election Day. If you have not done so already, you are encouraged to exercise your right to vote.
In closing, I’m extremely grateful for ALL the birthday expressions shared with me, from my family and the ECHS school community, for my November 2nd birthday! There were very kind sentiments, cards and gifts! Also, the thematic “mourning” birthday attire and humorous thematic decorations shared by our ECHS staff team, were fun-filled and appreciated!
Please reach out if you have any questions.
GO OWLS!
Dr. Wilson

DISTRICT UPDATE:
Dr. Azaiez, Superintendent of Schools, November 1 community message
Nov 1, 2024
Dear Round Rock ISD community,
Outstanding public education happens because of great people. Round Rock ISD stands out as a remarkable place for families to educate their children, explore new opportunities, and shape their futures, thanks to the greatness of our community.
Our district’s commitment is to prepare ALL students for academic success, lifelong learning, adaptability, and achievement in their chosen paths. We strive to instill in them the belief that their aspirations are within reach and that they possess the tools to turn them into reality.
I think Westwood High School science teacher Chris Milhealsick said it best in her acceptance speech last week when she was named 2025 Texas Teacher of the Year, “We teach everyone who comes through our doors to the very best of our ability and we see firsthand the energy and potential that the kids of Texas have.”
Chris Milhealsick was chosen from more than 384,000 Texas teachers. I am proud to celebrate Mrs. Milhealsick’s achievement and the positive impact she has on the lives of our students. Her commitment to student success inspires those in her classroom and uplifts our entire school community. Milhealsick advances to the National Teacher of the Year program, whose winner will be announced by the President of the United States next spring during a Rose Garden ceremony.
Public education is vital to community well-being and growth, serving as the foundation for an informed and engaged citizenry. By fostering inclusivity and diversity, public education strengthens social bonds and encourages collaboration among families, educators, and local organizations. Well-funded public schools contribute to economic development by attracting families and businesses, ultimately enhancing the quality of life for all community members. Supporting public education is an investment in the future of our communities.
At their most recent regular meeting, the Board of Trustees reviewed community feedback from the Legislative Priorities Survey and revisited the district’s Legislative Priorities. These priorities concentrate on the critical area of public school funding and encompass the following key aspects: the District’s stance on school finances, state testing and accountability, Senate Bill I, teacher recruitment and retention, and school safety.
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5. Voting is your chance to stand up for the issues you care about and decide on the quality of life you want for yourself, your family, and your community. You can find Travis and Williamson County polling locations on the Round Rock ISD website.
I am incredibly grateful for your calls and emails of support. The dedication and passion our entire community brings to our schools every day makes a real impact, inspiring one another and everyone around us. Let’s keep working side by side, aiming high, and making a lasting, positive difference for our students and our whole community.
Respectfully,
Dr. Hafedh “AZ” Azaiez
Proud Superintendent of Schools
