Important Dates!
Friday, August 9, 2024
Class schedules will be posted to Student and Family Access on Skyward at 4:00 pm.
Monday, August 19 & Tuesday, August 20
All 9th grade students and students in 10th, 11th, & 12th grade who are new to the district will report to school for orientation activities and will have an early dismissal each day.
Returning 10th, 11th, & 12th grade students will complete asynchronous activities remotely and should not report to school on these days. Classroom teachers will send an introductory email to students and parents that will explain expectations for the day. Students need to complete asynchronous assignments in all scheduled classes in order to be marked present for the day.

Meet the Teacher Night for Grades 9-12 from 6:00 pm -8:00 pm.
We will meet in the auditorium at 6:00 pm for a brief introduction to the school and parents will follow their student’s schedule according to the following schedule:
Introduction 6:00 – 6:10
Period 1 6:15 – 6:27
Period 2 6:31 – 6:43
Period 3 6:46 – 6:58
Period 5 7:02 – 7:14
Period 6 7:17 – 7:29
Period 7 7:32 – 7:44
Period 8 7:47 – 8:00
We will be following a DAY 4 schedule.

How can I be sure I will have access to information available in Skyward and receive updates throughout the year?
The Student Information Verification process will open on August 1st and can be completed using a web browser. This process CANNOT be completed directly within the Skyward mobile app. Go to http://sisportal.rlasd.net in any browser on a laptop/mobile device (tablet or phone) or by selecting “Open in Browser” in the Skyward mobile app. You can also go to www.rlasd.net and click Parent Portal at the bottom of the screen to be directed to the login screen.
EVERY family should complete this process prior to August 9 when student schedules/homerooms/bus information is available. It is important to update contact information, including email addresses and phone numbers in order to receive up to date information, including notifications about emergencies, school closures, etc.
Questions should be directed to the main office of your child’s school.

Dismissal: 2:40 pm - first bus wave - only students on the first bus wave will be dismissed approximately 2:50 pm - second bus wave, walkers, riders, and drivers

Counseling
Welcome back from the Counseling Department! Schedules will be released by 4pm today. An email to students will be sent out with more details. School counselors have emailed students who are eligible for early/release late arrival but have not turned their form in. Check your emails and please send the form back to us ASAP.
The PSAT will be offered again this fall. Stay tuned for more information!

Don't forget to charge your Chromebook to ensure it turns on and is up-to-date before school! If you need assistance, please put in a help ticket.
How to Submit a Help Ticket

One of the great features of the new Help Ticket system is the ability to sign in with your Google account. If you are already signed into Gmail or Google drive in your browser, you will not need to enter your credentials again when clicking on the "Sign In with Google" button .
We would prefer that support tickets be entered via the web portal as it allows us to gather more information that can help us to quickly resolve issues. If you are having a technical issue that keeps you from accessing the web portal, you may enter a support ticket by simply emailing support@rlasd.net or leaving a message on the help ticket voicemail line at 717-244-6325 . Both of these services will automatically create a support ticket for your issue.

The SH PRIDE committee has set up an apparel sale to raise funds for our efforts to promote positive behaviors in our school as well as to get us some sweet new merch for the upcoming school year.
All profits from the sale benefit the Senior High PRIDE committee.
There are three designs to choose from and a vast selection of clothing and accessories that can be ordered in multiple colors, all of which can be mixed and matched to your preference. The design you want can be selected from a dropdown menu on the order form that is labeled "Red Lion Faculty". The choices are "Lion Pride" (no lion logo), "One of the Pride" (lion logo in the middle), and "Proud Pride" (lion logo at top left). Note that the preview window does not change to the design you select.
Here is the link to the online store. The store closes August 22. Apparel should arrive approximately 3 weeks later.
