CCI Families,
🏀📣🤖 Extracurricular Expectations Reminder:
Families, if your child participates in basketball, cheer, or robotics, please keep up-to-date on their grades and behavior. Students who accumulate 4 infractions or earn an F in any class will be allowed to practice but will not compete or cheer at games. This policy was shared during sign-ups and is crucial for maintaining accountability and teamwork. Thank you for your support!
🕯Important Event for Cedar Crest Students📅
On December 4/5, Cedar Crest will host a presentation from the Jason Foundation focused on 💔 suicide prevention and awareness. This age-appropriate presentation is tailored for our 5th and 6th grade students and will emphasize:
- 🌟 The importance of seeking help if feeling hopeless or having thoughts of suicide.
- 🗣️ The need to tell a trusted adult if students notice these feelings in themselves or others.
Each session will last 45 minutes and is designed to support and empower our students. If you have any questions or concerns, or if you would rather your child NOT participate, please reach out to haylee.hoffman@sedubois.k12.in.us. 💌

Some of our Multilingual Learners experienced snow for the first time yesterday. One of the teachers shared a picture with me of her students enjoying the first snowfall of the season. I was so happy to see the smiles on the students' faces.
Next week is a short week due to the Thanksgiving holiday. I wanted to share with you all how the Thanksgiving tradition began. Enjoy!
An explorer from England named Martin Frobisher came to Newfoundland in 1578. He celebrated his safe arrival in the New World and began the tradition of Thanksgiving in North America. Through the years the tradition made its way to the United States where the pilgrims first gave thanks in Plymouth, Massachusetts. It was determined that the Thanksgiving holiday would occur on the fourth Thursday of November in order to give thanks for the harvest season. As a result, many families in the US will gather next week to give thanks and celebrate the many blessings in their lives. It will be a time of food, family, football and watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on television.
