Enrollment for 2025 elementary summer school is open until May 9. Elementary summer school will take place June 2-27 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at South Point Elementary. Washington High School will hold its Curriculum Fair on Wednesday, February 5. In the Big Blue Jay Gymnasium, the Curriculum Fair will be set up so that families may explore the high school’s programs and courses. Click here for the story.

Kindergarten Connection will give families the opportunity to get their future kindergarten students registered in the School District of Washington for the 2025-26 school year. The event designed for students entering kindergarten in the 2025-26 school year will take place on Tuesday, February 11, at the student’s school of residence from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Click here for more details.

The Washington High School Athletic Association will host its annual dinner auction, “Strength Through Athletics,” on Saturday, March 15, at St. Gertrude Parish Hall, 6537 State Hwy YY in Washington. Click here for more details and registration information.

The 20th Annual Jordan Scheer Memorial Children’s Relay for Life is scheduled for Friday, April 25, at Scanlan Stadium on the Washington High School campus. The event is open to students currently in grades 3-6. Click here to register by March 14.

Four Rivers Career Center held the first day of sixth-grade BUILD days on Friday, January 17. Every sixth-grade student from the School District of Washington will have the chance to visit the Career Center in the coming weeks to learn about the different programs and opportunities available, and also participate in activities. Clearview Elementary in the School District of Washington has been ranked No. 117 in Missouri among the 2025 Best Elementary Schools by U.S. News & World Report. The rankings evaluate nearly 18,000 schools at the national, state and local level. The school was ranked No. 117 among 1,018 Missouri elementary schools. Click here for the story.

Two individuals filed for two open seats on the School District of Washington’s Board of Education, meaning there will not be a school board election on April 8. Incumbents Kelly Brinkmann and Dr. Frank Wood both filed for the Board, which closed on Tuesday, December 31. Click here for the story.
