It's time to CELEBRATE our staff!!! This week is Staff Appreciation Week. Please show your appreciation by writing a letter, sending in flowers, gift cards, candy, lunch, etc. Our teachers, instructional assistants and support staff go beyond to create the absolute best learning days for our students. Please sign up to cover your child's class during lunch, so that teachers can have a duty-free lunch. If the slots or full, still come in!

School Lunch Hero is Monday, May 5. Our cafeteria staff just received an A 100 Sanitation Rating! They are so welcoming and serve a delicious lunch for our students.

Cici's Pizza Night is Tuesday, May 6. Join us for dinner and say you are from Summersill and your teacher's name to help your child win a FREE pizza party for their class and 20% of sales goes to our school.

Interim Reports go home on Tuesday, May 6.

It's National Nurse Day on Wednesday, May 7. Nurse Lovitt takes such good care of our staff and students. We are so thankful for her!

Our fifth grade students will be going to their middle school orientation on Friday, May 9.

The Lion King Musical is Friday, May 9 at 6pm and Saturday, May 10 at 2pm. You can purchase tickets at Schoolcashonline for $5. The musical cast is our very own chorus students, and they are sensational!

We need volunteers to be proctors for the EOGs. Please sign up using the following link. Anyone 18 and over can be a proctor, no fingerprinting involved, just a short EOG training.

Our EOG dates and retakes are as follows.

Reading EOG for 3rd, 4th and 5th Wednesday, May 28

Math EOG for 3rd, 4th and 5th Thursday, May 29

Science EOG 5th grade only Tuesday, June 3

Retake Reading EOG Wednesday, June 4

Retake Math EOG Thursday, June 5

Summer school will not be offered this Summer, but students are able to retake the EOGs before school ends.

Are you a parent looking for ways to contribute to Summersill Elementary? There are several opportunities for parents to get involved and support our Eagle family. Please review each opportunity below.

* Parent Teacher Organization: This group meets in person and sends in special treats for staff throughout the year

* Parent Volunteer: Parents have to be volunteered trained each year and fingerprinted at the district office every five years

* Room Parent: Assists the teacher with various things for the classroom

* Strategic Planning Team: School stakeholders (parents, teachers, administration) work together to improve the school
