Grade 4 Enjoys Special Arbor Day Presentation
Grade 4 students were treated to an enlightening assembly with Professor Pricklethorn, where they delved into the fascinating world of trees. From the visible wonders to the hidden treasures, they discovered the myriad gifts trees offer us every day. Learning why arborists stress the importance of 'planting the right tree in the right place' sparked curiosity and understanding. Together, they took a pledge to champion tree preservation, protection, and awareness, ensuring a greener, more sustainable future for all. The presentation was part of local Arbor Day activities and was provided through a partnership between the Taunton Parks and Recreation Department, the MA Tree Wardens and Foresters Association, and the MA Department of Conservation and Recreation.
Celebrating a Year Worth of Effort
Throughout the year, Bennett students having been working independently on completing I-Ready lessons in Reading and Math. To encourage continued focus and effort along the way, several classrooms have created incentive charts that offer learners the chance to earn whole-group rewards like dance parties, pajama days, or extra recess. Each time a student met proficiency goals within a lesson, they colored in a square on their class chart. This week, the students in Room 15 celebrated all of their hard work by displaying a gallery of charts they have completed together over the course of the year. Great job!
Planting the Seeds of Appreciation
Putting what they learned from recent Earth Day lessons into action, students in the second grade created wildflower seedballs using recycled materials. When planted, the seedballs will blossom and add a beautiful array to any garden. To share their appreciation for Bennett teachers, the students delivered seedballs, along with a thank you poem, to staff throughout the building on Friday.

School News and Reminders
No School - May 27
The Taunton Public Schools will be closed on Monday, May 27, in recognition of Memorial Day. There will be no school for students or staff. Classes will resume on 5/28.
Spring Footwear Advisory
With the return of the warm weather, we are seeing an increase in the number of students wearing flip-flops to school. As a result, we are also seeing an increase in foot injuries. Please remember that students have recess everyday and are quite active during that time. It is highly suggested that students wear sneakers, Crocs, or other footwear limits slippage and that protects the toes.
Last Day of Kindergarten
The Kindergarten school year ends earlier than other grade levels. The last day of school for Kindergarten students will be Tuesday, June 11. Parents will need to make arrangements for childcare beyond that date. As a reminder, we do not host an end-of-the-year ceremony, but the students' hard work and accomplishments will be recognized through classroom celebrations.

Save the date! We will be holding our Grade 4 Send-off Ceremony the morning of Tuesday, June 18. The event will celebrate our fourth-graders upon the completion of their elementary studies. More detailed information will be shared with parents as we get closer to the date of the program.
