PROMOTION NEWSLETTER - 8th GRADE
PROMOTING CLASS OF 2024
Dear Parents/Guardians of the Class of 2024:
Promotion is quickly approaching. The following information outlines everything students need to know about the event. Please take the time to read through this information with your son or daughter so that you are aware of the timeline for all promotional activities and requirements.
At this academic level, we do not call it a "graduation" as it it simply a promotion to the next level of their academic career. A necessary bridge to be used as a stepping stone to greatness. Although, it is still worthy of celebration, our expectations are higher than 8th grade.
We are committed to having a memorable program, and we know that with your support, it will be a fantastic promotion ceremony for our students, friends, and family members. Please do not bring foghorns or balloon bouquets to our gym. This is both as a courtesy to other families who want to hear & see the ceremony; but when balloons are set adrift and wind up in our ceiling rafters, they tend to set off the fire alarm.
We are proud to announce the 8th Grade Class of 2024 Promotion Ceremony will be streamed live via our Facebook page.
South Valley's administration, faculty, and staff are extremely proud of this promoting class. These students have worked hard and shown great leadership using the 8 habits of Leader-in-Me.
Sincerely,
Principal Gant

Promotion Photographs
We will have backdrops set up for photographs after the ceremony.
If you wish to photograph your student during the ceremony, we ask that you do not use flash as this may blind anyone walking on the stage. Please return to your seat after taking your photo so all can see their student. If you wish to stand, there will be open space to the left and right of the benches. Do not stand in the middle aisle.
We appreciate your support with this as it ensures all attendees can see their students.
