Message from the principal
Greetings from the staff and Admin Team at David Suzuki Secondary School. It’s hard to believe, but we are at the half way mark of the 2014/15 academic year and it is my sincere hope that your son or daughter has experienced great success in semester 1.
If you haven’t done so already, please be sure to review your teen’s semester 1 Final Report Card, issued on February 6th. Should you have any concern about your son or daughter’s progress, please be sure to contact their Guidance Counsellor or Vice Principal. You can book an appointment to meet by calling the school’s Main Office.
As you can imagine, semester 1 was action-packed and as we gear up for semester 2, I encourage all students to set both personal and educational goals that will lead to future success and achievement.

Arts at Suzuki
Our student actors, artists, dancers and musicians have had an amazingly productive semester, and celebrated with an amazing performance and exhibition of artworks in late December. Students had opportunities to connect their curricular learning and extra curricular experiences to character values, numeracy, the environment and 21st century skills.

Suzuki Business Students Compete in Simulation Export Fair
On January 8 & 9, the grade 12 International Business students showcased their final evaluation, The International Business Export Trade Show. This was a hands on experience, that provided a 'real' trade show simulation as they were visited by several classes. In addition to selecting a product to export to their assigned countries, students had to complete a detailed Corporate Social Responsibility campaign showcasing how their business was going to support and give back to society. Classes and teachers attending the trade show voted on the "best" export business. All teams displayed great initiative and hard work. The winning teams were Alissa Rosan & Tianna Puddie for their export of the toy Rainbow Loom to Brazil and Simran Gill for exporting Tim Hortons to the Netherlands.
