Principal's Post
*Please be sure to read our newsletter through as this is where you'll receive important information and updates as our year continues.
Dear Students & Parents/Guardians,
I want to begin this letter by saying thank you to our PTA for an amazing spirit assembly. Our students had a blast! Please know that we welcome our families to our spirit assemblies and look forward to having you all on campus for future spirit assemblies.
To our Kinder families, we are excited announce we've received approval to now have our kindergarten students join our junior chorus on Fridays from 2:50-3:20 pm. Parents and guardians of kinder students will need to pick them up their kinder students then return them to campus for chorus. If your student attends childcare, childcare will bring the kinder students to the MPR with the 1st and 2nd graders that attend chorus.
Towards the end of this month we will begin hosting our ESL classes on campus, as well as have our first English Learner Advisory Council (ELAC)/Title I meeting. Please look under "Parent/Caregiver Outreach" for those detailed flyers.
Reflections is back! We are looking forward to seeing how our students represent this years theme "Accepting Imperfections". We want to encourage our students to participate in this awesome event. Please read below for additional information. An extra special thank you to Brittany Davila for chairing Reflections. We are grateful for the time you are spending to make this years Reflections one of the best yet.
We are continuing to recruit for openings for representatives to our District Advisory Councils and committees. Our school is in need of a parent representative for our Special Education District Advisory Council (SEDAC). If you are interested in being a representative on this DAC, we would love to have you. Please reach out to Mr. Carter. Linked below is a webpage where you'll be able to find meeting takeaways from all seven of our district advisory councils and committees throughout the year. This is a great place to go to learn about current happenings, topics being discussed, and updates pertaining to each council/committee. Worth checking out!
A draft of Acacia's School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) is now available for your viewing at the link below. Thank you School Site Council for your support, dedication, and hard work on this project.

During drop-off and pick-up, please ensure that you are not parking in the spots reserved for our staff and teachers. We understand that these times can get crowded, and to help with this, I recommend parking your car and walking to the front gate to pick up your child. Additionally, for the safety of all students, please make sure they exit the car on the passenger side during both drop-off and pick-up. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated!
I strongly encourage every family to consider purchasing accidental damage protection for their students' Chromebooks. These devices are essential tools for learning, and accidents can happen despite our best efforts to protect them. Having insurance ensures that if a device is damaged, it can be quickly repaired or replaced, minimizing disruptions to your child's education.
Please mark your calendars. On Wednesday, September 25th we will have our first Walk & Roll event. We will meet at Dover-Hendrix Park at 7:30 and begin walking to Acacia at 7:45. All families are welcome to join us.
GO CUBS!

Chromebook Accidental Damage Protection (ADP) Program
Conejo Valley Unified School District (CVUSD) is pleased to provide all students with a Chromebook through the District’s 1:1 Program. While at no cost to families, proper use and care of the Chromebook is the responsibility of the student and their parent/guardian. To support this program, CVUSD is offering Chromebook Accidental Damage Protection (ADP) program for parents to eliminate the concern and costs of repairing or replacing damaged, or stolen Chromebooks.

Reflections Arts Program
Calling all of our creative, our art-loving Cubs! We'd love for our students to submit artwork for this fun arts program. This year's theme is "Accepting Imperfections." There are six different art categories they could submit work for, using the theme as inspiration:
- Dance Choreography
- Literature
- Photography
- Film Production
- Music Composition
- Visual Arts
There are five grade-level divisions, as well as the Accessible Artists division that celebrates student artists with disabilities. Please check the Reflections webpage for full details. Submissions will be submitted digitally, students have until October 4th to work on them. We can't wait to see all of their creative work! We will be hosting a showcase of their submissions on November for all to see. 😊

Through our yearbook store you're able to order yearbooks, design, purchase and submit student dedications and upload the photos you've taken throughout the year. Also, an always handy "Did I Already Order?" button if, come May, you can't remembered if you ordered or not!
We are collecting photos from our Cub Picnic and the first day of school, submit your photos soon so they'll be included in the yearbook! The yearbook pages get designed throughout the year so as events happen we will be sending out asks for specific pages being worked on - and the sooner your photos are uploaded, the higher chances of them making it into the yearbook! Each classroom will have their own pages so if you are volunteering in class, during a party etc snap some pics to send in!
