We hope everyone is enjoying the long holiday weekend! Next week we will be hosting our virtual Back to School Nights at each grade level. These presentations are an opportunity for our teachers and faculty to share important details and information related to the content that will be covered at each grade level, as well as the methods that will be used to engage students in the learning process. Teachers have been asked to send links for ZOOM sessions and slide presentations by Monday at noon. Many have already received information and details :-) Please note these sessions will be recorded and shared to those families that may not be able to join at their scheduled time. Also, it is likely that there will be questions. If permissible and time allows teachers may address some of the questions during the presentation. It may be necessary to compile the questions and share their responses at a later time. Since our specialist team will not be able to join in for every session they are also compiling their own presentation to share important information related to their content.

Teachers spent additional time Friday familiarizing themselves with the FACTS system and how to input grades, assessment information etc. Once we are able to check in with one another and ensure we are consistent in our procedures and timelines for inputting scores we will upon up this portion of FACTS for parent viewing.

With the dawn of Virtual Learning it has become much easier for students who are home to still "participate" in class. A few reminders related to this process ~

1. Your child may be able to join in class but depending on what materials they brought home with them may not be able to complete all of the work.

2. The links to participate in their classes can be found in their google classrooms. Students in higher grade levels i.e. 5th grade and up will be able to "join" in with a greater level of independence than some of our younger kiddos. In other words, most should know where to go and what to do :-)

3. Teachers are always happy and eager to help but may not be able to respond to an email first thing in the morning to walk through the process as they are preparing to start their school day. We may be able to help facilitate this process from the office but cannot guarantee we will be able to do so as soon as class starts.

4. As we have continued to move through this hybrid/virtual model we continue to LEARN and GROW more and more each day. As I have told our teachers I think we might be pretty amazing at this by next year. In other words, we are all continuing to research, practice, make new mistakes, collaborate, learn and share. These practices will lead to tremendous growth but never perfection.

Our school is blessed with a wonderful faculty and staff that do so much for the sake of our children.

This year, they are facing even more challenges than usual. As a school family, one of the best ways that we can support them is by prayer. We are asking every school family to choose one day during the school year in which they will pray for our faculty and staff in a very particular and intentional way.

The goal is to have every school day covered between now and the end of the school year, so that our faculty and staff know that they are covered by our prayers every day as they serve our children. If you had to describe yourself as an animal, which one would it be? I would describe myself as a puppy dog...I loved to be loved and I am always energized and ready to play!

Scrip Sales are Back!

We are excited to bring back the ability to support your SCB Family or parish ministry through the SCRIP program. As with everything else lately, new procedures are necessary to keep our volunteers and staff safe during the exchange of out gift cards. We would like to make the process as hands free as possible. Orders and payments will be made using the online system provided by ShopWithScrip.com. One of our coordinators will then fulfill your order and it will be available for pickup or child delivery.

o If you do not have an online account set up currently, please see the attachment Joining Our Scrip Program

o Be sure to set up PrestoPay as well for your payment method.

· Choose the retailer you would like to purchase. You can find our preferred local vendors as available for purchase as well when you search retailers.

o One option is for "Gift Cards" which will be the physical cards you will pick up

o The second option is for "eCards" which are available instantly and can be scanned at the register. This is the preferred option. If you have never used the eCards - Give it a try!

We need to be able to properly staff BASK. Due to Covid, we have limited spots due to our staffing. It is VERY important to sign up as early as possible. Please try to avoid signing up the day of, but we do know that there are times that it can't be avoided.

Middle Schoolers (but especially 8th graders): Please make sure you are current with your immunizations. Due to new regulations, High Schools require all students to have TDap and Meningococcal.

Middle School Females: If you daughter experiences pain at certain times of the month and requires medication, please send a doctor's note with a bottle of medication that they are allowed to take. We also try to stock the bathrooms with "supplies". If you feel inclined to donate such items, we will gladly accept :)

If your child has allergies, please get a note from your doctor. Allergy symptoms mirror Covid-like symptoms. If we do not have a note from your doctor stating they have allergies, your child we be sent home.

PLEASE go to FACTS and fill out the medical portion of each child. It is very important for us to know about your child. Please let us know any medication they may take in the morning- ADHD, Allergy, etc

For now, these are the ways that you can put money on your shared family lunch account. Due to Covid, we would prefer not to handle checks or Cash. We would prefer that you use Paypal, but you will be charged a fee unless you mark them as a "friend" or "personal". I am not sure exactly what it says, but do not choose them as a business otherwise you will be charged a fee. The fee will not show up until it is entered into the lunch account. If you give FSC $20 as a business, the fee will be taken out and the remainder will be added to your account. AS ALWAYS, PLEASE PUT YOUR STUDENTS NAME IN THE MEMO!!!! It is very difficult to add money to an account especially if the PayPal account name doesn't match a name at our school.
