Special Visitor - Ferris The Dog
This past week, we had an exciting opportunity in one of our intervention based classrooms. Ferris, a trained therapy dog who works in one of the intervention rooms at the high school, came to visit us! Ferris is a Golden Retriever who has been working with high school students for a few years now. The students thoroughly enjoyed meeting Ferris and his friends, and it was heartwarming to see the joy and excitement he brought to the classroom. To learn more about Ferris and his positive impact on the UA community, you can visit his Instagram here.
Facilities Master Planning - Community Kickoff
Just like the first phase of the master planning process, phase two will be driven by community engagement and feedback — unfolding over 1 ½ years and involving multiple opportunities for residents to get involved by joining a building team, attending a community engagement session, taking an online survey and more.
“Our goal is to create a transparent process where all voices are heard,” Dr. Hunt said. “We will work together to revisit the work that was done 10 years ago, explore all possible options and together determine the best path forward for these schools.”
Upper Arlington Schools will kick off phase two this fall with the first round of community engagement sessions — on October 29 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Jones Middle School, 2100 Arlington Avenue, and October 30 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Graf Center, 2020 Builders Place.
“With the physical needs of these buildings, there is no zero-cost option or solution for our community,” Dr. Hunt said. “Your voice truly matters in this process. Your feedback will be vital in identifying a fiscally responsible and forward-thinking plan that meets the needs of both our students and our community.”

Fire Safety Week
As a parent or caregiver, you take steps every day to keep your child safe—whether it's buckling their seatbelt or holding their hand when crossing the street. The preschool years are a great time to introduce fire safety, empowering your child with important messages and skills that can make a big difference in an emergency. You can teach them how to respond if there's a fire and what they can do to help prevent one. By involving the whole family in these lessons, you're not only building confidence but also instilling lifelong fire safety habits that will keep them safe for years to come!
For helpful resources on fire safety, check out:
