NEWS FROM THE PANTHER DEN
WEEK 24 EDITION
WEEK 24 REFLECTION
Over the past week, you will find the phrase "Game On" on various signs throughout the building as we prepared for this weekend's "Game On Gavin" Fundraiser. Here in Golden Panther Territory, it is my hope that Game On is more than just a phrase—it is a mindset. It means stepping up when challenges arise, standing together, and never backing down. Right now, one of our own is, battling leukemia. But he is not fighting alone.
This battle is personal to me. Some of you may know that I am a cancer survivor. I am sure that we all know someone who has been in the fight. As someone who has fought cancer, I know firsthand how difficult the road can be. But I also know the incredible power of a strong community. When I was facing my own fight, I was lifted by the unwavering support of those around me—the encouragement, the generosity, the simple acts of kindness that made all the difference. It is what carried me through. It is exactly what I know we are doing now for Gavin and his family.
As a Golden Panther family, it is great to see people stepping up in every way possible. We are showing our support not just with words, but with action—raising funds to help with medical expenses, generating ideas to help Gavin feel connected, and reminding him every day that he has an entire community standing beside him. Being "PantherStrong" is not just a slogan—it is a promise.
For our students, let this be a lesson in what true strength and community mean. In the face of adversity, we do not back down. We adapt, evolve, and excel. When one of us is facing a challenge like the one Gavin is facing, we step up and say: Game On. I am so proud of our Student Council, National Honor Society, Allied Health Students, our basketball teams and our students working behind the scenes to support their classmate and friend.
A special shout out to Mrs. Buscher who has been working to make over 750 T-Shirts that have been purchased throughout the district and community. Thank you to our staff who have been working with their clubs on various "Game On" activities and to our community organizations and families within the community who have also donated to support the family!
This is our moment to show what it truly means to be a Golden Panther. Every donation, every act of kindness, and every show of support makes a difference. Let us continue to come together, proving that when one of us is in need, we rise as one. I look forward to seeing as many of you at the game on Friday at 7:00 pm as possible. Let's Go Orange for Gavin! Game On. #nocknation #pantherstrong

GAME ON GAVIN! #PANTHERSTRONG
Today we are asking you to help send strength and support to one of our own, Gavin Brady, a 9th grader student at PTHS, who has recently learned that his leukemia has returned. While in elementary school, Gavin was diagnosed with leukemia and battled it courageously with the support of his family and our community. Once again, we will rally around them with our support, strength and care. Gavin has shown incredible resilience, and we know he will continue to fight with the same courage and inspiring determination. As he begins his treatment journey once again, we want him to feel the love and encouragement of his Golden Panther family.
Pequannock Township High School is hosting a “Game On Gavin” fundraiser on February 21st at 7:00 pm when our Golden Panthers boys basketball team takes on the Roxbury Gaels in our final regular season home game. The girls team is also hosting a game at 12:00 pm on Saturday vs. St. Elizabeth's. As he battles leukemia, Gavin continues to love basketball and watches the games regularly from home and in person when he can. We want him to know that his supporters in the Golden Panther community and beyond are teaming up with him in his fight. All fans who attend the game that night and the Girls Game on Saturday are encouraged to wear orange as we cheer for Gavin and the Golden Panthers. T-Shirts will be available for sale at the gate. Donations will also be accepted at the door. All proceeds will go to support Gavin and his family during this time. Thank you for your compassion and support for Gavin and his family -- together we will help Gavin continue to be #pantherstrong!
