The Texan Star December 11th
Prairie Trail Elementary School Newsletter
From Principal Vaughn's Desk
Good evening PTE families!
The countdown has begun. Only 3.5 more days until the holiday break begins. Even though we only have 3.5 more days, we made sure to pack in as much as possible.
Be sure to check out the lost and found when you stop by this week for the many different events. We have so many things. We will have it out in the main hallway for you to look through.
Tuesday, December 12th is Pulse and Choir performance at 6:30 pm. Can't wait to see everyone there.
Friday is early dismissal at 11:45 am. Please make arrangements now for your child to be picked up at 11:45 am. Since we have early dismissal we also have a different lunch schedule so there are no lunch visitors on Friday, December 15th.
Please check out the newsletter below so you don't miss anything.
Have a great week!

CLASS HOLIDAY PARTIES, THURSDAY, DECEMBER 14TH!
Are you ready for our EPIC annual holiday party with the kiddos?! The grade-wide class holiday parties are back in the gym at PTE this year complete with snowball fights & more!
We’ll need all the volunteer help we can get to make it the BEST party ever for our kiddos. Each grade will rotate through the party during their regular specials time (times listed below), but there are 3 volunteer shifts to choose from. Feel free to sign up for 1 (or 2) shifts and then stick around to hang with your child during their party time.
Click HERE to volunteer and help us make this the best holiday party ever! Please note, ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST HAVE AN APPROVED BACKGROUND CHECK IN VOLY TO SIGNUP
Can’t volunteer but just stopping by to hang out with your kiddo during the parties?
Pre-registration for volunteers AND visitors is required this year. CLICK HERE to pre-register for class parties.
Party Times:
- 2nd Grade - 8:50 am - 9:40 am

HOLIDAY GIFTING SIMPLIFIED
'Tis the season to spread joy! PTE PTA is teaming up with GiftCrowd to simplify holiday gifting for our incredible PTE teachers and staff this season! 🎁🎄✨
HOW IT WORKS: Go to www.tinyurl.com/pteGifts before 8am on Friday, 12/15, make a few clicks, and you’re done!
Then on the last day of school before break (Friday, 12/15), the teacher or staff member will receive an email with the list of participants (but not their individual contributions) and their messages.
They can then choose to redeem their total gift amount from hundreds of gift card options to the store/retailer of *their* choice. It’s a win-win for everyone!
Prefer to go the more traditional route and send an individual gift? You can find the list of favorites for each teacher & staff member HERE.
Don’t forget the specials teachers! Each grade is assigned a specials teacher to “adopt” for the year:
Kinder - Art (Ms. Bartel)
1st - PE (Ms. Massa)
2nd - STEM (Mrs. Ellis)
3rd - MUSIC (Mrs. Goldman)
4th - LIBRARY (Ms. Howell)
5th - ADMIN (Pick any of the 3 admin, Mrs. Brustad, Mrs. Kixmiller, or Mrs. Vaughn)
WATCH D.O.G.S.
Dad, Papá, Baba, Grandpa, Uncle, Papaw, Father, Abuelo, Daddy…whatever name the special kiddo in your life may call you, Prairie Trail NEEDS YOU!!!
Did you miss the kickoff event? No worries! You can still be a part of the Watch D.O.G.S.
