👋 Dear Durand-Arkansaw MS families,
Things to know this week:
- Activities
- Thank You Families!
- Winter Coats
- Target Time Focus
- Winter Sports Registration
- Letter from Mrs. Sabelko
Outstanding turnout!
This month's Target Time focus is COMPASSION IN ACTION. Mrs. Sabelko shares more information in this week's letter, and you can follow TILL360 on YouTube.
PLEASE NOTE:
If your student played a fall sport, they still need to be registered for any additional sports they participate in.
6th graders only register for Fall Cross Country, Winter Wrestling and Spring Track.
I would like to begin by thanking those of you who were able to make it to our program on Monday evening. I know we still have a few items to work through like adding in more seating and more copies of the program that we will continue to work on for upcoming programs. We all greatly appreciate your grace as we continue to improve.
I would like to celebrate:
The student musicians and artists who did an excellent job in their performance Monday.
Our sixth grade student Olive who knitted Santa hats for all of the flutes to wear at the performance.
Mr. Smits, Ms. Klapperich, and Ms. Jushka for their hard work and dedication to their programs.
The Middle School Student Council for planning our dance!
Our kitchen staff for making the lunchroom such a festive place for our students to dine each day.
This Friday we will be hosting our first middle school dance in the cafeteria from 6:30pm-9:00pm. We will ask that students be dropped off and enter the school through the door by Pupil Services, this sidewalk extends by the entrance by the library and that is where we would like students to be dropped off and picked-up. The students will be limited to staying in this area of the school for the evening with doors opening 6:15pm. With the cold temperature please do not have students arrive before this, we don’t want them to be too cold to dance. We will have snacks and soda for the students to purchase that evening. We look forward to this being a great night!
Next week we will end that last day before break with celebrations in Panther Time classes during the afternoon Friday. Please check with your student to see if they have been asked to donate any items for the celebrations that afternoon. I know the teams are working on something special for the students and they will definitely want to be here.
The last week before breaks can be an exciting and crazy time for students and their emotions. Helping to make sure students are practicing self-care with enough food, sleep, staying hydrated, and regular hygiene practices can help the stressful times to be handled with regulation and kindness. We will do our best making sure to communicate and support the students here at school and appreciate all that you do to provide this support at home.
