Reminder to sign up for Text and Email: Alert MCPS - Alert MCPS provides you with emergency information about school operations via text messages (i.e. SMS text or email messages) to devices you register. Signing up for Alert MCPS is free, but your wireless carrier may charge you a fee to receive text messages. This service is provided in collaboration with the Montgomery County government. 4. Reminder about Student absences - please notify the classroom teacher and main office by email (Dawn_L_Hedley@mcpsmd.org) or by phone of your child's absence. In your message inform the school of the reason for the absence. ex. sick, appointment, travel, etc.
5. 25 - 26 Traditional School Year Calendar - Approved by Board of Education
During the December 5, 2024, Board of Education (Board) business meeting, the Board adopted the school year calendar for 2025-2026. The school year calendar includes a new Student Transition Day, which is a non-instructional full day designed to support students transitioning to new school levels or schools by fostering a sense of belonging and preparedness. It is designed for students in Grades K, 6, 9, Grade 3 students in Grades 3-5 elementary schools, and students new to a school or MCPS.
Highlights from the 2025-2026 Traditional School Year Calendar include:
• 181 instructional days and six built-in contingency days within the school year
• Pre-service Week for Staff: Monday August 18, 2025 – Friday August 22, 2025
• Student Transition Day: Monday, August 25, 2025 (non-instructional full day)
• First Day of School for All Students: Tuesday, August 26, 2025
• Winter Break: Wednesday, December 24, 2025 – Sunday, January 4, 2026
• Spring Break: Saturday, March 28, 2026 – Monday April 6, 2026
• Last Day of School for Students: Wednesday, June 17, 2026
• Districtwide Professional Development Days on Friday, October 17, 2025, and Friday, March 20, 2026
• Grading and Planning Days following the end of each marking period on Monday, November 3, 2025, Monday, January 26, 2026, Wednesday, April 15, 2026, and Thursday, June 18, 2026.

- While our beloved teachers are busy raising the bar for our kiddos, we are going to set a different "BAR" for them daily to say "Thank YOU" for all their hard work. If you would like to drop-off snacks, please leave them in the Front Office and let the staff know that the items are for the Snack Pantry.
