What Is the PEER MODEL PROGRAM?

The Parkway Preschool Peer Model Program is a unique opportunity for preschool-aged children to positively impact the lives of children with developmental delays. While learning together in an Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) classroom, peer models develop empathy, confidence, and school-readiness skills.

  • Placement available at 3 locations for Half-day classes
  • A one-time $300 program fee covers the entire school year.

The Parkway Early Childhood Community is coming together to support families this holiday season. We are committed to our character education goal to take care of others. This year, the Parker’s Paws program is collecting gift cards to go directly to families in our early childhood programs. If your family can give in this way, please consider donating by Tuesday, December 10th. There are two ways to donate:

  1. Purchase a Schnucks, Wal-Mart, Target, Aldi, Walgreens, or CVS gift card. Please mark the card “Parker’s Paws” and give to an Early Childhood staff member.
  2. Use the following link and purchase an Amazon gift card: Parker’s Paws Gift Card Wishlist . Please select the wish list address in ‘shipping options’ and it will be delivered directly to our Social Workers at Parkway Early Childhood Center West (PECC).

Square One Art FUNdraiser

Get a head start on holiday gifts! Simply search for your child's art using Art Search, and enter state, school name, and your student's name. Your student's art and code will appear, and you may order! NEW - *Ship to Home FREE. (*Customer pays a small processing fee at checkout and order ships to home.) Order by: 12/3/2024. ENROLLMENT BEGINS JANUARY 6, 2025

Missouri law requires children to be 5 years old by August 1st to enroll in Kindergarten. Our full-day, tuition-free program offers convenient online registration and enrollment. If you do not have access to the internet, a device to use, or need assistance completing the online application, please call the Parkway Enrollment Hotline at (314) 415-9900.


One of our District Registrars would be happy to answer any of your questions or help you complete the registration application in person if needed. Registrars are at the Parkway Welcome Center - 760 Woods Mill Road - Ballwin, MO, 63011 - (314) 415-9000. More information and the Steps to Enroll

  • FREE event for 2025-26 Parkway Kindergartners & their parents/guardians at their Parkway elementary school of Kindergarten attendance
  • Tour your Parkway elementary school. Learn about Kindergarten life and the key areas of the school.
  • Help your child become acquainted with their future school community.
  • Have your questions about the upcoming school year and daily routines answered.

Happy December, Preschool Families!

The holiday season is here, and it’s a magical time for learning and fun at Parkway Early Childhood Center. December is filled with exciting activities, seasonal crafts, and opportunities to celebrate together.

Suggested At-Home Activities:

  • Read Together: Enjoy seasonal books like The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats

  • Share Your Traditions: Talk with your child about your family’s holiday traditions. This can be a wonderful way to connect and share meaningful moments

  • Craft Together: Create simple crafts like paper snowflakes or ornaments to build fine motor skills and make lasting memories

All Parkway Residents with a Child Under 5 Are Eligible!

Parkway Parents as Teachers is a home visiting program offered at no charge for Parkway residents serving families prenatally to Kindergarten entry. To enroll in Parents as Teachers call (314) 415-6973 or start the process to enroll online. A representative will call you to complete enrollment.


Group Connections are FREE activity sessions presented by PAT. Some are for children and parents and some are for parents only. Group Connections are listed on the Parents as Teachers webpage with registration links:

Partners in Play offers affordable fun classes, for children and caregivers, that provide fun and meaningful activities to promote growth in all areas - social, emotional, physical and cognitive. Expose your child to a classroom setting to have fun while taking turns and playing with others. Parents have opportunities to talk about childhood development in a supportive environment.

Kids Morning Out Kids Morning Out

The Kids Morning Out program is designed for children turning three after July 31st. Parents drop off their children for this two-hour, fifteen-minute program that blends developmentally appropriate curriculum with wonderful opportunities for social growth. All classes are taught by a certified teacher with a low teacher-to-child ratio.

The registration timeline for the 2025-26 school year is posted above. More registration information will be available after Winter Break.

FREE Play-Based Developmental Screenings are available for children 3-5 years old living in the Parkway Schools District. To get started: 3 - 5 Play-Based Screening

Announcements:


  • All full day students' developmental screenings have been completed at all locations.
  • Half-day students' yearly developmental screenings will be coming December-January; parents please be on the lookout for paperwork coming home to be completed as part of your child's developmental screening.
