MAAP STARS (Minnesota Association of Alternative Programs - Success, Teamwork, Achievement, Recognition, Self-Esteem) is a leadership development organization designed for students in alternative education programs. It provides opportunities for students to develop leadership skills, teamwork, and personal growth through various activities, workshops, and competitions. The program emphasizes success, achievement, and self-esteem, preparing students for future career and life challenges.

Four Central High School students attended the MAAP STARS Fall Leadership Conference at Lake Beauty Camp in Long Prairie MN. Students engaged in networking, skill-building, and collaborative experiences with peers from across the state. We are incredibly proud of our students for their dedication to personal growth and leadership development!

We are excited to invite you to our upcoming Parent-Teacher Conferences on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. This is a great opportunity to meet with your child’s teachers, discuss their progress, and explore ways to support their success. We also encourage you to come to conferences with ideas on how Central High School can strengthen our partnership with families and the community. Examples could include, family nights, parent advisory councils, and service-learning projects.

We will also be providing food during the event, so please come hungry!

With winter just around the corner students are often in need of warmer clothing. CHS has jackets, hats, and gloves available for students. If your student is interested, direct them to our Social Worker, Kerrigan.

10/22 - 12/12: Fall Night School every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30 - 6:30. No night school on November 5, 26, and 28

10/25: Distance Learning Day. Students will learn/complete school work remotely (not at school)

10/30: Conferences 4:00 - 6:00

11/8: End of Quarter 1

11/11: Teacher Prep Day (No School)
