Woody's Wrap Up
Back to School 2024-25
July 16, 2024
Principal's Message
Hello, WHE Families & Friends! It’s hard to believe that another summer has come and gone! Despite the last week, we hope that you and your families have found time to rest, relax and enjoy some summer fun!
Once again, our Kingwood community has been hit hard with devastation as Hurricane Beryl made landfall last week. We hope the impacts have been minimal on your family; however, we recognize that many of our families have experienced extreme hardships in the aftermath of the storm. While our resources may be limited, we'd like to try to help with what we can. If you are able and willing, please take a minute to complete this survey, so we can do our best to support you as the school year begins.
As you make preparations to return to school, please see the information below with important details and items that will need your attention prior to the first day of school. If you have any questions about back to school, registration/enrollment, etc, please be sure to check out the Humble ISD Back to School webpage. We are looking forward to a wonderful year!
Together, we make a team!

Samantha Morgenroth, Assistant Principal

Annual Update is Now Open!
Annual Update for School Year 2024-2025 is required for all returning students. It is not required for newly enrolled students.
- A returning student is any student who was actively enrolled on the last day of the 2023-2024 school year at any Humble ISD campus.
- You are a current student even if you have moved within the Humble ISD boundaries and are attending a new campus in 2024-2025, or you are attending a new school due to promotion (i.e. moving from 5th grade elementary to attend 6th grade Middle School, or moving from 8th grade Middle School to attend 9th grade High School).
NOTE:
- A PARENT/GUARDIAN (NOT student) HAC account is required to access the Annual Update and update student registration information.
- **Only 'Living With' guardians can access and submit the Annual Update. Please contact your campus registrar if you are unable to access the Annual Update.
The Annual Update opened July 15, and parents are asked to submit the update by August 7, 2024. If you have difficulty accessing Annual Update, please be patient and try again.
To start the annual update process, please log in to your guardian Home Access Center account, then click ‘Update Enrollment’ to ‘Start’ your 2024-2025 registration process.
Visit the Annual Update website for more information.

Pre-K and Kindergarten Registration for the 2024-2025 school year opened Monday, April 8, 2024. www.humbleisd.net/enrollment
Pre-K: To be eligible for Pre-K in Humble ISD, a child must be 4 years old on or before September 1, 2024, AND meet one of the criteria for eligibility. These are TEA requirements. The Texas Legislature determines eligibility for free public Pre-K in Texas and eligibility is limited based on need.
Kindergarten: To be eligible for Kindergarten in Humble ISD, a child must be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2024. Incoming Kindergarten families can sign students up for a “Kindergarten Screening” scheduled for July 25th. Use the Sign Up Genius below to make an appointment. During this screening process, incoming kindergarten students will work with a kindergarten teacher to show what they know focusing on basic kindergarten skills. This screening is NOT mandatory - if you are unavailable on July 25th, teachers will work with students once the school year begins.

2024-25 WHE School Supply List
If you ordered school supplies through EPI, they will be delivered directly to campus prior to the start of the school year. You can access the 2024-25 WHE Supply List here.
Child Nutrition
Parents will be able to put money into their child’s lunch account during Woody’s Welcome.
Households must reapply annually in order to be eligible for free or reduced priced meals. Students who receive free/reduced price meals during the current school year qualify for those benefits the FIRST 30 DAYS of the following year in August. However, once a new application is processed, the eligibility determined by the new application will supersede the previous year's eligibility, even if that is within those first 30 days. Any student who does not have a new application processed by the 30th school day will automatically be changed to full pay. For more information, or to apply for free/reduced meals, visit the Child Nutrition website.
Volunteer/Chaperone at WHE!
If you plan to volunteer at WHE or attend a field trip this school year, you must complete the Volunteer Application prior to doing so! This application must be renewed each year. Get a head start and do it early!

Humble ISD App & Rooms
Rooms is a new parent-teacher communication platform for elementary campuses. From work, to home, to school, mobile devices have become a key tool to navigate and communicate throughout the day. The Humble ISD mobile app allows families to stay up to date with campus and district news and events. Now, our Humble ISD mobile app makes it easier for elementary families to stay connected with teachers and class information right in the Humble ISD app!
With Rooms, parents are able to:
View each elementary student's class information, including announcements and materials.
Engage directly with teachers in two-way messaging.
Keep all communication in one convenient location ~ the Humble ISD mobile app!
Be sure you have the current Humble ISD mobile app downloaded on your mobile device, and notifications enabled, so that you can receive important updates from your child’s teachers. Check out our new Rooms Support website, where you can find helpful information, quick videos and frequently asked questions about using Rooms.
First Day of School is Wednesday, August 7th. Doors open at 7:30AM.
