3A: A Week at a Glance
week ending December 4, 2015
A Note from Mrs. Adams
If your child goes to strings, please be aware the because of the change with splitting our class into 4 separate time slots, I will be continuing to teach during the times that they are out of the room. I will always sit with your child when they return to show them what they missed, however there may be times that the missed work comes home as homework. So far, it has worked out that the work is completed in class, but that may not always be the case. Thanks for your support and understanding!
Recent Math Homework (division sheet on Thursday)... I'm so sorry if it caused any stress! That was not my intention! When we learned it in class, I showed them how to figure out the answer even if they didn't know their multiplication facts. They could use arrays or a multiplication table. I now realize that I should have copied one and placed it on the homework for them to reference. We spent Friday (today) reviewing the division problems. Sorry again for any confusion!
Barnes and Noble fundraiser - this Sunday - I will be reading at 12:00 and would love to see some familiar faces if you can make it there!
If anyone would like to donate any items to our treasure box, we are getting low again! Donations can be taken at any time during the school year, so we appreciate any cheap trinkets that can be added to our box! :)
Upcoming tests:
Math - Unit 7 test - probably Tuesday the 15th but not yet set in stone!
Social Studies - Thursday, December 10th - They will get a study guide on Tuesday to practice what will be on the test. However if you want to start reviewing, it covers being able to locate the 7 continents and 5 oceans (Atlantic, Pacific, Indian, Arctic, and Southern). They should know the name of our continent and what 4 large countries make it up (US, Mexico, Canada, and Greenland). They should know the name of our state and county, and what 3 states border NJ (Pennsylvania, New York, and Delaware). There are also vocabulary words that they should be familiar with, but those will be on the study guide. I hope that helps prepare them!
