LJC6 Mule Memo
Our Vision is to Inspire All Students to Achieve Excellence
February 5, 2025
No School February 14 - Teacher Learning Day
No School February 17 - Presidents Day
How 'bout those CHHHHHIIIIIEEEEFS!
Now, without getting into any talk about winning or losing, I wanted to ensure you knew that LJC6 was thinking ahead about the community celebration that has followed KC championships the last few years.
As of today, due to my survey of staff and the weighing the ability to staff for the school day, LJC6 will BE IN SESSION and holding school as scheduled even in the event of a championship parade. With that said, I do know that we will have staff absences and my best guess, won't fill substitute needs 100%. Your administrators, teachers and staff will all work together to make it the most productive day possible. We struggle sometimes due to illness, especially this time of year to fill at 100%, so we have strategies we utilize to attempt not to lose academic time.
We appreciate our families. We love our students. We cannot do this without our staff. Here's to being an amazing community!

From LJC6 Health Clinics
We have a new elementary nurse... Julie Gilkey joined our clinic at the elementary. She comes to us with 19 years of nursing experience. We are very excited to have her! Her email is jgilkey@lonejackc6.net.
Also reminder about illness.
The season of illness is upon us. We are seeing a fair amount of influenza as well as strep, common cold, and stomach flu. Please encourage your students to wash their hands frequently, avoid touching their faces, and cover their coughs. Also, if you have a sick kiddo please keep them home. Students must be fever/vomit free for 24 hours without medication before returning to school. When calling in for attendance please let our secretaries or nurses know about symptoms and/or diagnosis so we can help track what is in our buildings and community. Question feel free to reach out to Lindi Rogers - lrogers@lonejackc6.net and/or either of our building nurses: Julie Gilkey - jgilkey@lonejackc6.net (elementary), Melissa Carpenter - mcarpenter@lonejackc6.net (MS/HS). Thanks!

Attendance at extracurricular activities - help us keep our events safe!
We are so blessed that our families and community are active and attend our athletics and fine arts events. LJC6 asks that you always monitor or keep your young children with you while you are in attendance. We have younger children and students who are wandering hallways and creating a loud and disruptive environment for our guests. Supervisors and administrators need to be monitoring the activities for organization and safety reasons, so please ensure your children are supervised as well.
Does your child need homework help? Here is a solution!
