Principal's Message
Sorry for the delay on getting the newsletter out. Some newsletters have more information than others. This week there are a lot of important items including the Husky Fund, our school store, conference reminders and community service day. We have a short but big week ahead! And on top of all of this, best of luck to our football teams as they compete for city championships!
Have a wonderful evening, Huskies!

VOLLEYBALL
Our 8th grade girls played on Saturday of this week at Mission Trail for the City Tournament. PRT started strong with solid wins against Chisholm trail in the 3 vs. 6 match. After a successful first match, we were able to seek revenge against Frontier Trail, who beat us earlier in the week. We won both games against FT and were headed to the championship match against Mission Trail, the overall one seed. The huskies had a bit of a slow start, losing the first game 25-17. With a little determination and competitive spurt, our girls pulled out the second set victory taking Mission to a third game. During the third set, our Huskies fell just a little short. We ended up taking second place in City out of ten teams; what an accomplishment. Thank you to those of you who came out to support throughout the season.
The 7th grade volleyball team is your 2024 volleyball city champions! They completed their undefeated season, 19-0, in a thrilling 3 set match to Mission Trail in the championship game. After dropping the first set to Mission 25-19, your huskies came back and battled to win a must win second set 27-25. Prairie Trail took over in the 3rd set winning 15-9 and taking the city championship. Kendall Macrorie and Sammi Hallenbeck controlled the front line. Kendall recorded 3 kills and several key blocks while Sammi had 7 perfect hits. Marin Wagner, Mia Jarvis, and Maesyn Loontjer controlled the serving line going a combined 25 for 28. Emma Clayton, Leighton Sanders, Sienna Roberts, and Kelsey Murphy stayed strong in front and back row contributing several key digs and passes to help keep the huskies battling. Congratulations to your 7th grade city volleyball champions!

Xello Lessons Coming up in October
6th grade students will be taking assessments to learn about the different ways in which we process information the beginning of October. You can soon ask your student if they are a tactile, visual, or auditory learner and ways in which they can study more effectively based upon their results! They will also take a Matchmaker survey and saved careers that were interesting to them. They will look at education, training, salaries, and schools that offer those degree programs.
7th grade students will be looking at their Matchmaker survey results next week. They will also be completing their personality style survey and reflecting upon careers that match their values and strengths.
8th graders completed their career matches and have saved careers that are interesting to them.
They started to explore pathways, education and training, and programs of study that fit their interests.
This will help them when looking into all the various 21st Century Academy Programs in Olathe and preparing for their high school pathway/Individual Plan of Study (IPS)
