Would You Like To Say The Pledge of Allegiance?
Dear Parents,
We are excited to offer a wonderful opportunity for your child to lead the Pledge of Allegiance over the PA system. This is a great chance for our students to develop their confidence and take on a leadership role in our school community.
If you would like your child to participate, please complete the attached form separately for each child you are signing up. All submissions will be considered in the order they are received. We look forward to hearing from you and seeing our students shine.
Parents, please go over the Pledge of Allegiance with your child to ensure they are comfortable and prepared.

Mrs. Brown
From the Nurse
If your student has medication that will need to be administered during the school day please plan to bring it along with the proper authorization form to Meet the Teacher on Aug. 7th, if possible. I will be available to take in medications from 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM and would love to meet you.
Important things to know:
1. Each medication must have a form. One form for each medication.
2. Prescription medications must be in the current, unexpired container/bottle with the appropriate label from the pharmacy. All prescription medication authorization forms must be signed by the physician.
3. Over-the-counter medications must be in a new, unopened bottle/box. If you wish for your student to be given a dosage other than the recommended dosage printed on the bottle/box you will need to have an authorization form signed by your child's physician approving the dosage. Otherwise, only a parent signature is required on the authorization form.
4. Medication must never be sent to school with a student unless the parent has submitted the written order from the physician authorizing the student to carry an emergency medication, such as an inhaler or EpiPen. Otherwise an adult must bring the medication into the school to be signed in with the nurse. If a student is found to have brought medication to school unauthorized, serious consequences may occur.
5. Medication will never be sent home with a student from school. If medication needs to be picked up, it must be signed out from the nurse's office by an adult.

School Bus Evacuation Drill
Greetings Rocky Ridge Family,
This message is to communicate that Rocky Ridge will begin our Front Door Bus Evacuation Drills next week until each bus has completed its evacuation drill. Thank you for your support!
Per the Alabama School Bus Driver Record & Report Book:
Drills should be scheduled at least two times per school year. Optimally, the first evacuation drill should be performed early in the first semester and the second evacuation drill should be performed early in the second semester.
Sincerely,
Mrs. C. Jackson
Assistant Principal
Atentamente,
Sra. C. Jackson
Subdirectora
School Arrival
We believe it is important for children to develop good habits at an early age. Parents, please help us by having your child here on time. Every minute counts! This is a reminder that students not in their classroom by 7:45 AM will be counted tardy. Our academic schedule begins at 7:45 AM, and therefore, we need all students and staff members ready to go at 7:45 AM. The first bell rings at 7:40 AM to dismiss students to the classroom. If the “your child is now late” sign is out, you will need to park and check your child in at the front desk. If weather or other extenuating circumstances slow down the carpool process, we will make an exception. Also, please be sure to only drop students off at the designated area. Please stay off your cell phone and follow the directions of school staff and our SRO in the carpool lane for drop off and pick up. Thank you for your support!

Lunchroom Visitors
It is such a fun thing to have family members come to eat lunch with a student! We love welcoming you to the school and are excited for you to have this experience and opportunity. Parents/grandparents will be permitted to come and enjoy lunch with their child starting September 9th. Please check with your child's teacher about the class lunch time. Visitors must be on the child's check out list in order to be permitted within the building and must present their driver's license.
