Dear Families,

Charter schools were designed to offer families an alternative educational program when their resident district was not meeting the needs of their children. Each year in January, the charter community celebrates the option we provide to our families!

Regardless of what brought you our way, we are so thankful to have you as part of our school community! To help us celebrate, please take a moment to participate in one of the following ways:

• Send us a short video of why you chose and continue to choose GHA as your School of Choice!
• Post a testimonial with your experience with us on social media. Use the hashtags #SchoolChoiceWeek and #GHA2021.
• During School Choice Week, January 24th-30th (not next week, but the week after), encourage your scholar to wear a YELLOW shirt! Students who wear yellow shirts may wear them with jeans during the last week of January!

Thank you for celebrating with us, but more than anything, thank you for partnering with us!

Our January character trait for Student of the Month is "dependability!"

All of our scholars have received devices for virtual learning. Below are a few tips to ensure the technology devices are not accidentally damaged or lost.

- Ensure the case remains on the iPad or Chromebook.

- Ensure food and drinks are not around the technology devices.

- Ensure scholars are stationary when using the iPad or Chromebook.

- Monitor data usage. (Make sure hotspots are turned off and disconnected when not being used for school work.)

- When lessons have concluded for the day, ensure the scholar places the device in the same location each day.

- Ensure the technology devices are plugged into the charger at the end of the day in order for the scholars to have a fully charged device for the next school day.
