A Note From the Principal
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We recently rolled out our new Standards-Based Grading (SBG) report card survey for grades 1 and 2 at Munson Elementary and Park Elementary School, and the feedback from parents has been overwhelmingly positive. With this new system, we focus on students' learning journeys rather than traditional letter grades, allowing for a clearer understanding of their progress and mastery of specific skills. The simplified grading scale - "E" for Emerging, "P" for Progressing, and "M" for Mastering - offers transparency and encourages more open communication between teachers and parents. To ensure we're meeting parents' needs and expectations, we recently sent out a survey, and the responses highlighted the clarity and reduced stress this new approach brings. We look forward to continuing our collaborative work with families to support student success.
Sincerely,
Mathew Prezioso
Principal, Munson Elementary

Lost & Found
We still have a collection of lost clothing, lunch boxes, water bottles, snow gear, etc.! Please ask your children to stop and check the lost & found in the main hallway for any items that might belong to them. Also, PLEASE LABEL ALL OF YOUR STUDENT'S ITEMS with their names so that we can help return them to their owners! Thank you!
Please return any clothes your child has borrowed from school this year to the clinic or office. This is also a great time to get back in the habit of BRINGING EXTRA CLOTHES AND SHOES to school! Your student can keep them in backpacks or leave them in a cubby in the classroom. The playground gets VERY muddy this time of year! Thank you!
