May is Mental Health Awareness Month.
Mental health is as important as physical health.
- Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being, which affects how we think, feel, and act.
- It is everything from daily mood to severe mental distress
- Helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices
- Everyone has mental health; it exists on a continuum
- Mental health concerns are not always mental illness
Normalizing the conversation about mental health changes the culture around this topic, promoting a caring, supportive, less judgemental community that encourages help-seeking and well-being.
