Dear Grade 4 Families.
We are excited to have two new music educators join the elementary level next year and are planning to offer a Grade 5 Beginning Band program at each elementary school beginning in September.
This program will prepare students for entry to the middle and high school programs. Grade 5 students will have the option of learning the trumpet, trombone, flute, or clarinet. Band classes will take place once per week during their regularly scheduled music class. As with middle and high school programs families may choose to purchase or rent an instrument. The average cost is $20 per month for a rental. Assistance will be offered to students eligible for free or reduced lunch.
At this time, we are asking all families of students entering grade 5 in the 2024-25 school year to indicate if they would like their child to participate in the Grade 5 Beginning Band Program by completing this very brief survey.
