Rules and Procedures:
In this lesson, students will be introduced to Mrs. LaRue's rules and procedures.
- We will go over rules and procedures.
- I will identify Mrs. LaRue's #1 expectation.
- Why do you think it's important for us to have clear rules and procedures in place, and how do they help create a positive learning environment?
Complete the scavenger hunt questions using the syllabus provided to you in class This is your first daily grade! Remember you only have 2 days to complete each assignment.

#102 Capture the Dot
Setting Up INBs:
In this lesson, students will setup their journals (INBs) and will review the coordinate plane.
- We will number INB pages and set up INB. We will review the basics of the coordinate plane.
- I will plot points on the coordinate plane and describe their positions to a partner.
- How can understanding the coordinate plane help us navigate or describe locations in the real world?
This activity highlights the importance of using a straight edge to connect points and also serves as a review of graphing on a coordinate plane.

#103 Translating Verbal Expressions (Color Activity)
Writing Expressions:
In this lesson, students will translate written expressions into algebraic expressions.
- We will sign into Google Classroom and practice translating algebraic expressions.
- I will turn and talk with a partner to explain how to translate a given algebraic expression.
- How does translating an algebraic expression help us solve real-world problems?
We are practicing translating written expressions into algebraic expressions. This will be your first coloring activity, and you must complete the coloring sheet to receive full credit.

Quiz #1 Syllabus & Drills
Safety Drills:
In this lesson, students will be introduced to the locations and procedures of all safety drills.
- We will review safety drills and take a quiz over the syllabus
- I will discuss the importance of following safety protocols.
- How can understanding the procedures for fire drills, tornado drills, and lockdowns help ensure your safety and the safety of others in an emergency situation?
